Tell me about hip hop dancing

First off I'm 21 years old and barely danced in my life at all. I never took lessons because i thought it was something for (no offense to anyone!) fags, because of Step Up it gave off this fag vibe. And never looked into it. Then dubstep came about and I LOVE dubstep. Everytime I hear it I want to dance to it but, ofcourse, I fail miserably. I'm also very self-conscious... (social anxiety)

Is it still possible to learn waving, tutting, strobing, gliding, etc at my age? I mean, all those amazing dancers started at WAY younger ages... Also, I have to do with youtube. There is a dance centrum very near by but it's the old dances and ballet wich I have ABSOLUTLY no intrest in.
