tell me about psychopaths

why is no contact the only option to deal with them? isnt there any other way?

There is. I think people opt for no contact because they are scared of what might happen. Far more psychopaths and sociopaths exist than I think people can even begin to realize, so no contact is an impossibility. Take me for instance, I have a family that loves me and a few close friends that love me too. I choose to not to hurt others because I am a being of free will, just because I do not feel remorse does not mean I am instantly and inherently evil and will chose only to hurt and destroy others, although the tendency and urge to do so is there. It's like the failed argument that theists like to make about atheists: if there is no God, morality is, therefore, an impossibility. If you do not answer to a higher power, you automatically are incapable of morality. How on earth does that make sense? It doesn't, not at all.

how do you suggest i should react "if" i ever happen to hear from my psychopath ex? he just tossed me out of his life a month ago like i dont exist.

Not ever having met him, knowing his past, or what he's like, honestly the avoidance rule sounds like the best idea. Like I said, total avoidance isn't the right answer, especially since no two snow flakes are ever the same, so pretending they are isn't going to make it true. However, considering he just tossed you out like you don't exist, I say try and erase yourself from his life permanently. Number one, he was lucky to have you in the first place given he most likely doesn't have a conscience, and honestly now that he's gone you are better off with out him. I'm not telling you to be afraid, but since you are no longer something that gives him pleasure (at least as a sexual device or sound board and you don't cook him food, provide for him, or shelter him) you should try and make sure he doesn't get pleasure from you other ways. Primarily, don't let him toy with you (emotionally or otherwise) and make sure he doesn't start infiltrating parts of your life that he shouldn't be sticking his nose in. I'd be watching out for him releasing any of your information or looking to possibly hurt you physically or emotionally. Again, I don't want you to worry or be afraid, but the possibility is real. So, now that he's removed himself from your life, you should focus on moving on and finding somebody that will love you for who you are and has genuine feelings for you, because you are worth it.

And before you think I'm not without a conscience, know it's the truth. I am a nice person, I try to be, but that's the only reason why. I was born of sin, I am a terrible person by nature, but I have found my reasons for being a good person and living a good life and will always try and teach others to do the same. We're all the same thing really, our lives are as shitty as we make them, and as grand and marvelous as we make them. There is no reason to cause ourselves pain and suffering when we can be happy and flourish.

Also, I have responded to your pm. As I said, I hope I haven't told you the wrong thing. He could actually be hurting inside and need somebody, but you are 100% worth the time and effort to be a part of your life and I think it is time to move on and find somebody who truly appreciates you.
