Down my way, when out, if you talk to a girl, naturally they think you are like any other guy and just want to get in her pants, similarly if you do talk to a girl and like her, and she then wants to get in your pant right away, I can't help but judge her for being too forward/easy....

No, you aren't. Yeah, there are quite of few like that, not as much as guys like that, though. And I am with you on that one too.
Just talk to them like you would talk to any other person... seriously, if they are that paranoid/in defence then it would probably be best for you not to talk to them anyways. I mean, any girl who takes "hi want to go hang out some time" meaning "I want to get inside your pants" well, I'd say she probably isn't worth your trouble.

Basically give them opportunities to reveal their personality. also answer you own questions. When they reveal something unique and interesting about themselves. Reward them for it. "I like your laugh, What's you name?". "wow not only are you sexy but you can hold a very good conversation". At these points where they show something unique, it's ok to say things like "sexy" since you are basing it on something about themselves rather than just thier looks. It shows you aren't shallow etc.
I just talk to girls like I talk to anybody. There's no mysterious calculations being made in my head, I just talk. When I meet new girls, sometimes I just go up to them and go, "Hi, what's your name?" and it just goes from there.
If they think I'm in it for the sex, I just keep talking, which pretty much shows that it's not my top priority.
I like jokes and making an ass out of myself and others. Embarrass her, but playfully.
Karaoke bars are good places for that (don't know how old you are or the UK drinking age so that might be out.)

I used to be really shy so this is what I did: A few summers ago I promised myself for that thirty days I would go up to a strange girl and try to hold a conversation with her. I got shot down ALOT, but am much better off because of it.
