Tell me about your job & wages.

Ok someone did this on another forum I am on, so thought it would be interesting to do it here, considering the worldwide spread of people we have on this wonderful forum.

The poll is not viewable by anyone, so no one will know what you posted, but interested to see what the spread of wages people are on.

Also post your age, job title, and a description of what you do. I bet there are some really interesting jobs on here, I always love to hear the Americans jobs, they always sound so intelligent when they speak compared to the English

So I guess I should start....

I don't mean this to sound patronising but when I was 17 I was earning about £2.70 an hour, then I changed to a job which paid £80 a fortnight!!!

Tipping the scales the other direction a bit. I work as a programmer and make a good wage. But I'm 43, so I've paid my dues.

I work part time at my university's study abroad office. After two raises, I only get paid $9/hour. And they expect so much out of us, too, as if that money is any incentive. Good thing my boss is such an amazing person.

I have the same problem, I would have liked a lot more money, and would have left if it wasn't for the fact my boss is awesome! Although he has just been made a director now, so I got a new boss, time for a new job me thinks

My company contracts me to a government agency where I do web application work. At the moment I'm working in ColdFusion with MS SQL Server.

Nice one, do you enjoy it? Although not generally within my remit, I have to hack certain SQL within our DB2 database to produce MI from Business Objects. A painful task, but was fun learning it. Our systems are not quite upto scratch so have some manual intervention to get results.

I do like it. The people are great, and I get a lot of freedom in how I perform my job. Of course there are boring days, but for the most part, I love it.
