Tell me about Gelling/Waxing your hair

Right now I use Brylcreem wax on my hair and half the time it works out and looks OK. But recently (as in for the last 2 or 3 days) it just doesn't work. The more I try to fix it the worse I make it and I usually end up having to wash it out and start over just to get the exact same results.

I used to shave my head and eventually got bored of it and decided to let it grow. Now it's an obsession, I can't leave the house at all without doing something with my hair.

So I'd appreciate any advice/ tips/ methods on hair styling.
      Thanks in advance

Whenever there's an area you don't like, like it's sticking up weird, just take the palm of your hand and smash it and move it around in circles, like rubbing it. That usually fixes it. You could try that. Sometimes if you take some really hard stuff, like for spiking, and put that on, then blow dry it straight up and smash it back down using the above method, it looks OK.

The trouble with some gels/creams is that they leave white blobs in your hair that looked like someone's sneezed in your hair... or worse. I prefer not to use any hair products. All the people in my school look ridiculous using them.

      I use this product:

It works really nice. Leaves the hair a bit shiny. The hair stays in place, and doesn't feel rock hard to the touch. The hair still looks like pretty good volume.
A couple of times I put it on my hair, it didn't come out very well, so I rinsed my hair real good, towel-dried it, then went at it again. I've come to realize that a good outcome (at least on my hair) has to do with the right level of moisture at the time I apply it. If the hair is too dry wet or too dry, it doesn't come out that great.

I use a combination of Vo5, Tony & Guy Wella - But recently I have been using this new stuff I got from the Barbers:

Its a product which has no name just REF 333 or REF 505 and the number corrolate to what the product does.

      Hold:
      Shine:
      Volume:

and they have from numbers 1-5 so REF 333 which I use at the moment is Hold 3, Shine 3 and Volume 3.

Its good but you cant get it in the shops, and its a small tub for £15 so expensive too!!!
