Tell me some things to do to keep me active while I'm crippled.

I'm currently on crutches, and I'm also starting to sleep with an Everyman polyphasic sleep cycle.

While I'm adapting to this new sleep cycle I'll be tired, but will need to stay awake until my naps. To stay lively and awake I would normally go walking around the block, swimming, biking, etc. but since I'm on crutches I can't really do that.

What active things should I do to keep me wide awake when I get tired?

Lift weights? Do the exercises where you can sit or lay down (bench press, military press...)

How badly are you hurt? Broken leg, bad tendonitis?

I had surgery on my ankle for the second time after Osteo Chondralitis. (Spelling?)

Yep instrument is nice. You also have a perfect excuse to waste your life playing video games.

I already play guitar, and have been playing it excessively.

And I never really play video games, Mes.

I think I need to do really active things that get my blood moving, some adrenaline, etc. I just can't really think of any except for doing arm workouts, which I find extremely boring and don't really do.

You should really do as much exercise as you can--you might find you like arm work-outs when you see how they make you look.

Otherwise...it seems like your doing a pretty good job of helping to keep us entertained here at DV!

Maybe there is a topic that you are interested in that you could research and become really expert in.

Swimming? Surprisingly, that can be kind of hard on your ankle, unless you go 100% upper-body, but it's a good workout.

Whoa hey, awesome idea - stilts!

      Aren't those just like crutches?

Oh yeah and you can pull a Teabing and whack guys w/ your crutches/stilts. Start a new martial arts school of Cripped Men of the Black Crutches.

I meant that those are things I would do if I wasn't cripple to stay awake.

Well, I'm glad I make good entertainment, MB.

I might work out when I start to get very tired as a last resort.

If everything else fails, buy a powerball.

Powerballs are good, but they won't get your heartbeat up. You could do pushups, but put your hurt ankle up in the air.

It would be more effective and energizing if you didn't wait until you were exhausted.

Pull-ups and bench press. Seriously, why wouldn't every teen-age boy want to lift weights and get muscular?

I'm pretty fit already. It's not like I wouldn't want to, I'm just too lazy sometimes and it's not a high priority of mine, so I can never keep up with it. I have started before with intent to regularly work out, but I don't keep up because it ends up being not as important to me as, say guitar or some sports, etc.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to imply that you were out of shape. I think everybody should lift weights, that's all.

Sudoku? I hate that game but lots of people like it. Or do crosswords?
      Start a blog! Hahaha..or a novel.
Bake..it's a good hobby to get into & you can do it sitting down.
Learn how to play the harmonica.
Wait, you have to go to school too huh?
That should suck up most of your life.

      Yeah, I got school.

I still have like... 12 hours of being awake though aside from it.
