Tell me where to find friends

I've been looking for more people to hang out with this summer, but i dont know where to look. The only place I could think of was the library, but they only hang out in that young adults sections, and that section has horrible books that I do not enjoy at all. I'm too young to go to a bar or something, and I don't want to waste my summer at some sort of club or camp. Those are the only places I can think of for when it comes to meeting people other than school, and school's out.

15 is plenty old enough. Most places are fine with 14. Fast food service is the easiest to get into.

I'm not sure where you live, but places won't hire anyone under 16 here.

      Well... shit.

Join a group of some sort. Doesn't have to be a club were you spend all your time, just a portion of it. Just as you would with the friends you may meet there.

Well I guess I might look for a club tomorrow. but those things are just really annoying for me. I always end up getting in a fight with the organizers and quitting.

In that case, being a little more reasonable likely wouldn't hurt the friend making effort.

I'm nice to my friends, I just can't stand the whole "Follow my rules, I'm in charge, This is how we are going to do things" part of organizations.

Sports. I met about all my HS friends through football and grade school friends. Get your ass on a field, any field! It's fun regardless of friends anyway (in retrospect at least ). Maybe football isn't your thing, but soccer, track, etc, can work too.

You'll have to learn to work within clubs. Really, those are skills you will have to learn sooner or later, and by that I mean in the next few years. It's really best to start on ASAP, as it's one of those things that can take years if not decades to get down.

But I would seriously join a sport. I've been in some clubs, and the sports are just more enjoyable and meaningful than the clubs. You'll make closer friends than you probably will in the clubs also.

      Where to find friends?

Simple: They're EVERYWHERE. Just chat someone up, be fun.

But a recent study shows that people in close proximity tend to befriend each other faster than those far away... So the first place where you should look is your own neighbourhood.

Also: The best friends are girlfriends. so if you aren't shy, go talk to some girls, go out on a shopping spree and ask girls for advice, flirt them up and maybe decide to tag along. If you push their buttons well enough, you've got yourself a friend. Or maybe more.

In short: you don't have to 'go out' to get friends, you could just go outside.

Check Facebook for a friend group based in your area. I guess you could find some friends that way.

how i usually make friends is walk around my neighborhood, and when i find someone, follow them for a long time then catch up to them. usually they run back into their house but i just ring the doorbell or go into the backyard or garage if its open...
