      All things British

An australian friend and I have decided to send each other a package of novelty items for our birthdays as they are in the same week, we set a £20.00 ( about $40.00) budget and have made a pact that we would only send each other things that we likely couldnt get in our own countrys?( easily anyhow) The items need to be quite light in weight as well as relatively small or its gonna be a killer on postage costs, Apart from the usual gift shop type items i am completely stumped what to send, So if anyone has any ideas it would be a great help, Thankyou!

      oh and its a female.

This is a simple one. Send a £20.00 note. It's light, so it saves on postage, and she likely can't get it easily in Australia. Talk about novelty!

teacups would probably break in transit and we only allowed to send one bottle of alcohol overseas

Well I was just kidding, but at least you could include a one pound note, or whatever change you have left over.

Get someone to do something completely ridiculous for £20.00, video tape it, and send the video.

Don't forget to throw in some cheapos, like the front page of your local paper. It'll give the package more flavor!

You might be able to pick up some nice books or souvenirs relating to the local history of your area. Australians don't have so mcuh of that.

OK well one thing is certain, find one of those big Union Jacks which you can attach to your wall, the presents can be wrapped in it.

something like this i guess although there's no pic http://www.unionjacksupplies.co.uk/uj_flageco.htm

If there's a souvenir shop they'd probably have some big union jack flags you can wrap the other gifts in.

Or if England only a St.Georges cross flag, 5ft long by 3ft wide, £5.50 delivered! http://www.aacflags.com/prodisp.php?...k=index.php%3F

Then other gifts to put in... i'd think about:

      1. I know it's obvious but maybe some British Fudge or something from those Souvenir shops.

      2. Maybe some fridge magnets lol:http://www.gloriousbritain.co.uk/bus...-set-item.aspx

      3. Some pens or pencils with england related stuff on them.. POLICEMAN PEN! http://www.gloriousbritain.co.uk/pol...-pen-item.aspx

      4. Union pack mouse mat! http://www.gloriousbritain.co.uk/uni...-mat-item.aspx

      5. Union jack playing cards: http://www.gloriousbritain.co.uk/uni...ards-item.aspx

      6.BERTIE BULLDOG!!! http://www.gloriousbritain.co.uk/bri...-toy-item.aspx

lol that's all i can see which would be any good.
Lugggs and cuddles and hugs for all!!
