Smile Tell me about studying abroad.

So today in the mail I got a letter from people to people ambassador programs, saying i was one of there final choices from the area I live in, in Texas. Basicaly if I'm chosen I get to spend about a month of next summer studying in a diffrent country.
I would really like to do it, but I don't really know anything about studying abroad. So it would be great if sombody could tell me anything about it.

Well, I've never done it myself, but I think it'd be quite an experience and you'd probably learn a lot.

Yeah I would love to do it. I'm just worried about how i could afford it, my mom already has to work a lot, so I don't want to stress her out. I'm still in high-school so I wouldn't be able to get a full time job to pay for it.
Oh well if I'm chosen I'll find a way.

I suggest you look at the prices. Studying abroad is definitely an incredible opportunity, in fact I think everyone should live in a different country for an extended period of time if they can because it takes you out of your culture and shows you the world from a completely different point of view. However, those programs are kind of a rip-off. If you're in high-school that's probably the best you'll get but if you're in college then look up a school independetly and apply, and check with your school to make sure you can transfer credit.

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

Not in College still in high-school. There's a meeting in October, so I'll go & check on prices & all that stuff.
It sounds like a good program but when I go back to school ( we start back Monday), I'm going to check with a person who works in the office & see what they have to say. I'm hopping there's scholarships that would be awsome.
