Tell me about joining the Navy (US)
I am interested in signing up for the Navy, either in nuclear engineering or search and rescue. I talked to a recruiter but they always seem to fall back on their promises so I want the truth, right here, from people who know what it is. Here are my questions.
1. Most importantly, will I have ample opportunity to meet girls and have sex? This is my main concern because the thought of being stuck on a boat for really long periods of time with nothing but dudes around me is intimidating. It'd be awesome if I was gay but I'm not so frankly I'm wondering how often do you get shore leave, and how long is it?
2. What is boot camp really like? Should I do stamina training beforehand?
3. What kind of amenities do I get? Is there any internet access? When can I get myself black out wasted?
4. How frequent are drug tests? I don't plan on smoking on the ship but if I take a vacation to see my friends I'm going to want to get high, and if I have to wait 3 months after signing up to go to boot camp, will I be tested during this time or can I enjoy 2 months of the ganja while I wait?
5. Is it usually fun, or is it usually just sititng on a boat doing your job with tiny traces of fun in between?
Yeah, that's all I want to know so far.
