      Tell me about court subpoenas

      I want to know under which circumstances a court subpoena can be made. My interest lies mainly with a civil case that would last no longer than a day. Can a subpoena be made before the case begins in the courtroom? And, if so, how would this be done?

      I actually need the subpoena to be sent to Ebay for information they have in regards to an order that was shipped to an address that was not my own. I discovered that it's possible to serve it yourself by obtaining a copy of the subpoena from any local courthouse. You can fill out the information yourself and have it approved by one of the clerks at the courthouse, and mail out a copy from there.
