      Tell me about gore

Since a young age I've had a fascination with 'gore',the dictionary saysthat gore is: Bloodshed, Coagulated blood, Carnage and Butchery. So I'm wondering, why do I have such a fascination with gore? Since my teenage years I've always loved it, I frequent a website called D*********g R*****y... which has Death Videos, Death Pictures and several other forums. It's been so long that I'm fully desensitized(sp?) yet the fasination remains. So to get to the point... do you enjoy gore? and do you know why I do?

p.s. As far as I know I'm a mentally healthy adult, no craziness to think of.

p.p.s. By the way I don't mean fake, movie gore... I'm talking real videos of people being killed. Like executions, suicides, murders, car accidents, autopsies, animal attacks etc.

<-Makes comment about Al Gore and global warming.

      Okay, serious now...

I've become desensitized to it as well. I have no fascination with gore, but it doesn't bother me as much as I think that it should. I've witnessed animal slaughters and it doesn't really affect me much.

I laugh at watching chunks of blood and brain flying out of the spot where a guy's head used to be -- In video games.

However, I'm unusually weary of any ACTUAL gore. I try my best to keep from seeing any footage of death / executions / delimbing. Not sure why there's such a disconnect between the two in my mind, but I suppose of the two, the former is a better one to be enthralled with.

You love gore because you experience it vicariously. Experiencing it directly is a different story.

Darn, lol, just when I was about to make a comment about you growing up to be a serial killer

Seriously, it's probably just a form of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
I don't like gore- ESPECIALLY not real life gore. I empathize with the story (real or imagined) behind the mess.
I've banned movies and games from my house when I find them to be needlessly gorey. I used to love Zombie movies but now-a-days there just gore-fests.

      not at all

"You love gore because you experience it vicariously. Experiencing it directly is a different story."

Not true at all, for me at least... I've had quite a few experiences in life, from high speed motorbike crashes to fires... it's all the same to me.

You should edit out that title of the website in your original post.

Admins and mods don't really smile upon things like that.
You do this every fucking time.
      No sweat.
      No tears.
      No guilt.
You do this every fucking time.

hmmm, i was pretty fascinated with blood and gore too until i started working as an EMT. I would watch movies off ogrish and liveleak just to see what death and gore was 'really' like.

dealing with that shit in real life kinda ripped me through that whole phase quick.

you said you've seen it in real life... have you REALLY dealt with it? or did you just see some bloody people who ended up being ok?
