I know it all, and if I don't, I'll look it up and search til' the death to find it.
What have been the most upstanding 'examples' of paranormal activity - recognized by the mainstream - which have yet to be debunked?
Hmmm I'm not sure that I understand your question. Rephrase??
I mean, what do you know about famous examples of suggested paranormal activity? Are there any good, documented cases of it, which have been investigated and yet not explained away as 'normal', 'scientifically explained' phenomena?
I would also like to know the answer to O's question.
Also, have you expirenced any good paranormal activity?
If paranormal is real - then isn't it just good old normal?
What happens if slayer and an alien cat girl get it on, Would it be human, catgirl or alien?
One: I'm not, sure of O's question, searching now.
Two: I'm way too into the paranormal, and way too paranoid to know what's actually paranormal and what's not. However, I am at least 98.99% sure that my dad's old house was haunted.
and Indigo: Why don't we try that out??
You said that you know everything about it. If you have to search they might as well just do it themselves.
Do you be believe entities can contact humans or even sense their presence.
Why has nobody claimed the James Randi million dollar challenge prize?
Rephrase please?? What exactly do you mean by entities, like spirits/ghosts??
Replicon: Maybe they're all fakes. Maybe the real ones don't want to be noticed. Maybe I'm just crazy. Maybe everyone who believes in the supernatural is crazy. Maybe, maybe, maybe. Maybe we'll never know.
I don't want to be harsh, but it seems, so far, you've failed to answer any questions properly.
I mean the Randi challenge is the equivalent of the thread someone posted in R/S about "I would probably give $1,000,000 to anyone who could convince me that God exists." Randi has a well-documented history of moving the goalposts, when testing his subjects. If he's not satisfied with an outcome, he will raise the stakes, and make the tests progressively harder, until he's come up with a way to pass off even so much as a reasonable doubt that the person is actually using the ability they are claiming they have.
The final word usually comes down to that old tag-line that "skeptics" use, whenever they can't explain a phenomenon: "Well, there has to be some rational explanation for it." Even if overwhelming evidence is in front of his/their face, a refusal to accept it is as easy as saying "Well, I might not be able to analytically debunk it, but there's an answer there somewhere. You haven't proven that what you've done is paranormal."
Such is the nature of the Randi Challenge.
That was my thread. Second one of my threads mentioned today!! Also, I have failed to answer one serious question properly. The other two were joking or I'm searching for. One question I'm waiting for clarification. The James Randi show one, that question remains unanswered. And as said before, he raises the challenges diffuculty. The people could be tired from previous challenges, or maybe they do have powers, just not that much ability. Do you honestly think that any living being could live without limits??
what can you tell me about this video?
If Tarzan is a wild man, why doesn't he have a beard?
obviously he shaves with a rock... ;)
I would love to believe in an afterlife, but I havnt seen enough evidence of ghosts to give me hope, what is the most compelling evidance to you?
There is a lot of proof out there. The problem however, is that technology is good enough now a lot of people can't tell the difference between what is real and fake. Even when something is real, its easy for a person to go, "No way that is fake."
I mean if I showed you a video of someone suddenly lifting off the ground and flying. Even if it was real, there is no way most people would believe it and it simply isn't practical for everyone to see everything first hand either.
Until someone is able to catch a ghost something and put it into a cage for everyone to look at it and study people are not going to believe it.
Probably the fact that there is just so, freaking many reports and cases. It's just hard to believe that these people, mostly non-believers, would just make something like this up. some of it is beyond imagination!! Too bad ghosts (spirits, entities, whatever) just seem to defy all means of capture and so are mostly impossible to actually study....
You didn't answer my question.
Yeah, and your reading level is so high. Also, if you're actually educated in the paranormal, like me, you would know that the word "entities", when used in paranormal terms, can mean almost anything. Since you appareantly do mean spirits/ghosts, I'm going to answer now.
Yes, most likely. We can sense their presence (in theory) with the feeling of chills and being watched, correct?? So why not in reverse?? Since most cases state that spirits/ghosts feed off negative emotions, this would be nessascary in survival. They would have to strike fear into the person(s) to survive, therefore needing to be able to sense our presence. It's sort of like how most (if not all) foods have calories, the most needed supplement in the body.Quote:

No. No I am not. He is a wildman. He obviously has no razors. How could he shave it?
He sharpened a stick with a rock and used that.
Now you're being ridiculous.
Just reading how serious you're going on about this, it's a bit funny. ;) I'm guessing you're trying to compare the paranormal with a product that we know is made by people? And in doing so you're trying to say all these paranormal claims can be anything that people want them to be? That there are really no established facts out there and all of this is simply made up?
From the start this argument is already decided and based on the view that the paranormal is false and it seeks to compare it to something that is false. In a scientist's mindset you're seeking answers for what you already believe. That's a no no. But that's just the way arguments are right? You're original question should instead be "Is the paranormal true or false and how can I evaluate the claims?" Without biased belief, we can hope to get unbiased answers.
Of course all of this is just me trying to find a reason for why you're asking about Tarzan shaving, so all of this could be very wrong. If so then then this has to be the most EPIC FAIL on dreamviews this month...
Actually, I was just being a dick.
I remeber seeing a ghost multiple times when I was a lot younger(maybe around 6 years old?) It was always at night when I was in bed and in the same spot, it would walk across the room then disappear.
That was about ten years before I knew about lucid dreaming and stuff. I never get dreaming confused with being awake, and I am pretty sure I was awake when I saw it. However, knowing what I do now, I generally have to discount anything that happens just before waking or falling asleep, and anything that happens when I wake up in the middle of the night.
Its possible it could of been a ghost, but its not beyond reality that it could of easily been a very convincing dream, or sleep paralysis(even though i remeber moving).
On the same note, you can't really accept anything that is just a flash in the distance, or seen in the corner of your eye. Or accept any vague patterns on videos. Patterns are very bad since humans will see patterns in everything, even when there is nothing. Also you cant really count creepy feelings, since everyone gets them. Nor can you believe anyone who does drugs. I know one person who hasn't done drugs for 20 years, and still say every once in a while he sees something really strange out the corner of his eye.
Now if a person sees a ghost straight on, for more than 10 seconds, in a clearly lit room or during the day, that is far more crediable. People who claim they saw full apparitions of a ghost, up close can make strong claims they have seen a ghost for real. Or if you see something totally just fly across the room, you are in good shape.
A lot of photos are poor quality and of patterns which could be anything. Some are just fake too. Though there are a lot of other photos and stuff that could be real. And some times you have to believe a person when they say, they were only one in the room when the taped the sound of a ghost talking.
Yes, and I agree with [most of] this. Some people are druggies and some just think they see something out of their perifferals (spelling??) and I always discount those. Weird feelings aren't always the normal kind that everyone gets, though. Suddenly feeling extremely cold in a heated house is not ordinary. The feeling of being watched, however, can be caused by EMWs, which it is said that ghosts/spirits emit. But also, it emits from electronics in your house, and the feeling also comes from paranoia. Now, photos. Most of the photos do have [poor] quality, but remeber, not everyone is going to have a hiqh-quality proffesional photographer's camera in easy reach and use. That's all I'm going to say about that, though.
On your case of the ghost/spirit/entity, I have never, ever had a dream, where in the morning, I have thought was real life. Plus, you say you have seen it more than once, dreams that vivid, even recurring, almost never are so vivid that you think they're real more than once or twice.
And I fully agree.Quote:

Indigo, Delph...keep it in senseless fellas. -.-
Stay on topic folks.
Alright alright, I'll be serious.
So, if you believe in ghosts and all that stuff, you most likely believe in different types of ghosts.
Say, I saw a ghost in my house. Upon telling others in the house that I saw the figure in a certain part of the house, they responded with similar tales. Now, perhaps some weird hoodoo mumbo kajumbo happens in different parts of the house. Say, objects moving.
Does one accept that this is one ghost or two.
I use ghosts as a broad term. Meaning, any invisible/visible entity.
Was there a response I missed?
You suck so hard at this...
If a ghost is stuck in a loop, it can't be moving shit. If shit is moving, why would it appear in the same place?
I hate you.
Well for what I saw, I rememeber seeing it a few times and it basically happened the same way. I saw a greenish glow coming out from under my brothers bed on the other side of the room. It slowly got bigger and more human looking. Then I always rolled over and tried not to look, then it would disappear. I remeber it always disappeared when it got half way across the room.
I remember we rearranged the room one day, so that my bed was in a different position, and I never saw it again.
Could of also been a strange reflection of something. It could very well be a ghost or something as well. Heck I am sure someone might claim that my brother was astral projecting and it was his spirit coming out.
I just wish I would see something like that again, at my current age. Where I am able to look at it more objectively. Because really I have no idea what it was. I don't think I ever looked so closely to see if it had a face. I just remeber it being human looking.
Now if you see a ghost, and you look it in the eye. That would be something. I would like to talk to someone who looked a ghost straight in the eye. Not only because that would be cool, but because most people would run scared if they saw that.
I don't actually believe in astral projection, but anyway.... If I were to look a ghost in the eye, I'd stay there. I'm one of those people who can't move when they get really scared. You should find out about some place that's rumoured to be haunted in your area. If you can't find one then just go to a graveyard (stereotypical, but true). Or even go to the hospital.
Well its like some people saying ghosts are demons, and others saying they are dead humans. No one knows, so they are just making stuff up. I am a little more inclined to believe in the possiblity of ghosts, than I am to believe a person that tells me they had a conversation with a ghost.
....
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Jesus Christ I just read this whole thread and I have no fucking clue what is happening.
As far as I can tell, TheLucid is just being a dick. Reminds me of Psionics.
I'm sorry, I don't get what your question is asking.
But there is a rational explanation for everything. It may not always be readily available, but it's the nature of the universe. It is important not to jump to conclusions. To some, an unidentifed flying object automatically becomes an alien spaceship from space. To a more disciplined mind, an unidentified flying object remains and unidentified flying object until said object is identified. The same logic is applied to paranormal activity.
If something is inexplicable, the argument ends there. Saying something along the lines of "this can't be explained, therefore it is paranormal," is a philosophy of ignorance.
Explain?? Since when did you ask me to do that? And when was I the one being a dick?
TheLucid, i need some accessing of the following Paranormal acitivity. Specifically what kind is it? A ghost, a poltergeist, something else?
"edit" I decided to PM you with the stuff. I don't want to post it here.
You failed to represent the other five times I restated questions for you.
I still couldn't understand what you meant because as far as I know, none of that stuff ever happens!!
So you're sayng the supernatural does not exist?
No, I'm saying that nothing that is moved ever goes back to the same place unless mved by a human back to there. Are you talking about one of the previous stories with things disappearing then reappearing?? And what do you mean by 'Stuck in a loop"??
He claims he knows everything and then dodges every single question that requires more then a little thought... but that's off topic I guess.

Okay.
What proof do you have that ghosts are real?
:D
What proof do you have that ghosts are not real??
I have experienced the paranormal myself. Besides, there are just so many cases of the paranormal each day that it's hard to believe that some of them aren't real. Most of them are reported by people who were previously non-believers!!
:D
I was thinking about this and remembered, I do have one experience that I know was true.
I was at my aunt's house in MA. She had a dog named Misty, she died and the new dog is named Jesse. The two look very similair, although Misty was slightly smaller than Jesse is, a difference that I failed to notice upon seeing pictures of Misty. Now, one day I was sitting on a chair and "Jesse" came up to me, I patted (petted??) her and she walked into the kitchen. At the time, everyone who was home was in the same room as me, so nobody could have let her outside. There is no doggy door either. About a minute after I patted her and she walked away, I heard scratching on the door. I looked at the window to see Jesse (the real Jesse) outside, waiting for someone to let her inside.
Yeah, well for several years medical "professionals" thought smoking was good for your health. So, just because lots of people say one thing, doesn't mean it's true.
And saying "what proof do you have that ghosts aren't real" is just side stepping the question. I'm not the one claiming to have an all knowing knowledge on something that hasn't been proven to be real. Just sayin, dude.
TheLucid, you have the burden of proof. A good argument is not "what evidence is there against it?"
Except this is nt religion we're speaking about. Besides, I have reason to believe in the paranormal, but none to believe in religion.
Uh... it's still faith.
To respond to you usually patronizing post, the "personal experiences' of yours have never been described and are, to say the least, from an unreliable source. Namely, a douchebag who is obviously starved for attention. (Online stunts, cutting, etc...)
Jesus of Suburbia, I honor you and get i my knee's and bow before you. there been some wierd things going on my house for 1 year now for instances my girlfriend getting the thinnest scratches on her while she is sleeping these arent human scatches one stratch was even the shape of an A, my laptop moving from one place to another while im sleeping, feeling the lightest touch on my bum before i go to bed, small hand marks on the window after a snow storm when there is condensation on the window and i havent even touched it . They where too long to be my girlfriends hands and way too small to be my own. Another thing my girlfriend seemed like she was possessed while she was sleeping by this being she wouldn't wake up for the life of her, i told her to wake up multiple times but she wouldn't and she was very angry at me when i tried to wake her up her eyes where rolling around like the exorcist. My girlfriend doesn't remember these things happening to her. Also i smell things that aren't there, i am not a paranoid person. I smell smoke for two seconds and then it goes away. on the side not i am a man of god a i pray to Him when i need help He answers my prayers. I love Him and he loves me. I wear a crucifix everyday and i also wear it to bed. Please stop questioning wether god is real or not on these forums even if you put a million dollars worth of research you are still not gonna prove that god exists or not. Can you please help me get rid of this being in my house it has caused me a lot of pain and suffering.
thank you and god bless Jesus of Suburbia please get rid of this thing of in my house
Well, it sounds like a poltergeist. Poltergeists, although not having to do anything with religion, are demons. Although I feel your case roughly comparable to the movie "Paranormal Activity"....
But be that as it may, I will still help.
Being that you are a Christian (or some division of which) I recommend having a priest bless yourself and your girlfriend. As, the house is not what is haunted with a poltergeist, it is the person(s) experiencing the phenomena. I hate to have to tell you this, but despite popular belief, crucifixes do not scare demons. I've witnessed myself crucifixes being ripped off the chain around a person's neck. Holy water, however, possibly might affect them. So next time you think your girlfriend is possessed, she might still know what's going on in her mind, so tell her, something without specifically saying "holy water" in case she is possessed. Then, pour the holy water on her.
I would recommend getting that priest in as soon as possible. Any more questions, any concerns, feel free to post here or PM me as much as you want.
~~ Zack.
