LOL i know right it's like all the restaurants put it in my egg foo young and it's all greasy!
People use it because everyone uses it. That simple.
Numbers attract numbers, Microsoft and it's semi-monopoly etc
Just use pidgin or meebo or something
Simply put, it's Microsoft. Microsoft rules the effin' world as far as computers are concerned...always have, and - despite the rising popularity of Macs - probably always will.
For me, it's a simple matter of convenience to use either MSN or Yahoo. These more obscure services tend to be...really not worth looking into, in my experience. Don't be a blind non-conformist. Use what works, not what is or isn't popular.
you haven't been around very long, have you?

^Long enough to know that there's really nothing special about Macs except for flashier-looking menus.
"Ooh, the close/maximize/restore buttons are on the left side! Trendy!"
EDIT: My initial comment wasn't getting at whether Apple or Microsoft products were superior, anyway. It was referencing the fact that far more people own PCs than Macs. Numbers are everything, after all.
macs suck.
Macs are for simples.
I've personally never used a mac since system 7, so I can't really comment
but the fact they're now Unix is all good in my book
(Still can't top Linux, but hey, walk before you can run)
*edit*
anyway, what was this thread about? MSN?
It's a IM & VoIP protocol (it does do audio, right?)
no different from any of the dozens of others
do yourself a favour and use a multi-protocol client
It kills me that they stuck with the "MSN" name, even though the original MSN walled garden was DOA in '95
MSN blows, it'll never top AIM.
Meh, they are all pretty mediocre. The smilies on MSN bug me the most. Bah!
MSN messenger right?
Well I use it because like it's the best there is. It's easy to use, it comes with a whole bunch of awesome features, you can webcam there in the same window, you can voice talk, you can play games. You can design your messenger to any color your want or upload any picture on the background of it. Most importantly, I use it because the darling love of my life, High Hunter, uses it. :D
High Hunter FTW, but his taste in programs is questionable.
I use Pidgin to combine all my IM accounts. Sure, I lose that ever-so-frequently-used drawing feature in MSN [/sarcasm] but it actually works, most of the time, which is a huge plus.
Skype > Msn
Except for the file share. I like MSN's file share a bit better
