5-8 LDs a night now

yeah, its amazing. I was getting slow progress for the last few months (LD here, LD there, nothing very consistant). Now i'm getting 5-8 a night now. Strangely enough, I found whats triggering so many.

I'm usually not to big into exercising, I mean I do stuff like pushups and situps everyday. But as to running, I havn't been doing so much. So last night I ran about a mile, came in chilled for a bit and ate dinner, then went to sleep. I had 8 LDs i can remember.. possibly more. They were not light ones either, they were in the middle of the night (2-4 am period) and they were VERY vivid and very realistic.

Its so awesome, that I can just WILD right into them without even thinking. I mean, i'd wake up, look around my room. Then say to myself, not dreaming. Then I'd close my eyes and just "feel" an LD, and within like 5 seconds I'd feel STRONG vibration and complete numbness. From here I can just slip right into a LD.

As a side note, I also take a multivitamin before I goto sleep, but this didn't help before, only when I did running for about a mile or walking for at least 3 miles.

The last time I had this vivid was about a week ago when I was just doing constant walking during the day, thats when I got the idea to run a few hours before going to sleep.

Now since I can WILD at will during the middle of the night, i may try an OBE soon. Being that its right in the middle of the night with only 3-4 hours of sleep, LDs are very easy to control and its easy to fall asleep.

I run between 2 and 5 Km three times a week but didn´t achived a "real" LD...

I do tend to have more Lucid Dreams the nights that I train (MMA) Maybe your on to something......

Well, you are increasing blood flow and heart rate, so this may have some affects. Then again, the mere "shock" of excercising might have triggered it as well. Try to test some things out.

5-8!!!! I run but not much now guess I better get out there right before dark, how many nights have you done in a row like this, I eat at 5 so I'm going to wait till 6 or 7 to run so it's closer to my bed time, what time do you fall asleep and what time do you run?

Cool method! Can you tell us what you eat for dinner? Do you eat mainly protein, carbs, or fat? Or is it equal portions? How full do you feel afterwards?

I wonder how long he can keep this up though.

I get into grooves where I'm LDing every night and LDing during day naps...maybe like 20 LDs a week for like 2 weeks. Then they will go away for a week, come back...go away for 3 weeks...come back etc. etc. I don't know why though. It's just like I get in this mindset and then somehow I lose it. Hope you can keep it up, but let us know if things change.

Yeah, i think its because of increased bloodflow, because I notice I can focus MUCH better after exercising (its gotta be stuff like running though, because that speeds your heartrate up.)

Tried it again today, we'll see how many I pull off tonight. (i gotta blow up a dolphin too, so i'm feelin motivated).

I just got a new mattress today, mabie that will help me have lucid dreams

I ran cross country - we ran about 4 miles every practice and every race was 2 miles long and it didn't help my lucid dreaming at all.

well, its because its more of a shock for me.. you see in the summer i do alot of sports and shit, but in the winter, i do almost nothing.. (especially since i'm a linux hacker).

I'm gonna brainstorm a bit:

So if you're already a runner.. probably won't work. But other things i've tried works. Download an album (who buys music nowadays?), don't listen to it until you goto sleep, or listen to it once before you goto sleep. Depending on the album.. i've had about 90% success on this method. (your mind will take the lyrics and come up with something to form around them)

I find however, that if its an album you know well, it won't work.. My theory on that is, you already EXPECT the lyrics to be there, with something new.. your mind tries to figure out what it means, or how it goes. Repetitious music works better also then things like long progressive music with lots of solos and stuff. For instance, the first time I noticed this affect, was when I downloaded Fatboy Slim - Halfway between the gutter and the stars. I listened to it about an hour before i went to sleep, the whole thing. Well sure enough, i had a dream about it.. somewhere on the forums i posted it, it was about the sun exploding, was real creepy, but i was able to trace the lyrics right back to why I had it.

So, in my case, where I went to run is on my property (i have 50 acres), and I hadn't been up there much in a long time, school and stuff keeps you busy. So just the fact of being up there caused it.

Now, I can say FOR SURE, that food didn't affect it, as I ate very different things both times. I find drinking alot of water helps a little, because I had drank about 32 ounces before I went to sleep on all the major nights I had them. Getting to sleep at a reasonable time helps too, if you're mentally tired, forget it. As for vitamins, I had a multivitamin which does have a little B6 in it.. nothing like a suplement though (but i've not been getting much luck on 100mg-500mg, so i stopped on that).

Someone asked my sleeping position. Well, i can LD in any position, but for me to trigger an "easy" WILD like the ones I had during these dream bursts, I MUST be on my back. Though, it doesn't matter whether i'm on my stomach or on my sides during original sleep.

I did tend to go easy the nights I had the bursts, the night I had 8, I was half asleep and awake on the couch for about 2 hours, before I went to sleep at around 11pm. LDs started to hit between 1am-3am range. That kinda throws out the belief that you need 6 hours to get good LDs, because these are not only longer, but almost impossible to wake up from (unless you are forcing yourself to).
