Help! My dreams tell me that Im NOT dreaming!

Hi, This is becoming quite frustrating. I have had quite a few Vivid dreams lately, and have been trying to become lucid. My problem is that the people in my dreams tell me with such confidence that i am not dreaming that they actually convince me, no matter how much i am SURE that I AM dreaming. I am currently in Ireland visiting family, so the other night I had a dream about some friends that i had back in college (I live in the states) and at one point, i said, "Wait! Im dreaming, because I can not be here, I'm in Ireland!" and the people in my dreams told me with such confidence that i WAS NOT dreaming that i had lost the faintest bit of lucidity. Now similar things have happened since and i am getting quite frustrated, it isn't till I awake that i am sure that i was dreaming. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to overcome this? Thanks

Obvious question: are you using several RCs?

This should be a good thing. That is a very good dreamsign. If you really are lucid you should remember that your DCs do that and this should give you even more lucidity...

Yeh, like Silly said, use that as a new dream sign.

If you're not convinced... make sure by a RC...

After I was "told" that i wasnt dreaming, i did try to float/ fly (have done that one before in a true LD) But it seemed as if that being told that i wasn't dreaming i had lost confidence in that fact that i was. You all know how "real" dreams will seem, it is almost like i am subconsciously holding back some how. When in that dream, i KNEW that it was a dream, but it seemed like i was trying to fool myself back out of lucidity, is there anything i could/should be doing in my waking life to help combat this? (I have not been doing reality checks as much as i should in my waking life, and will start to do more in waking as well as during sleep) thanks for the ideas thus far, i will try to use that as my new DS

You can create a your own MILD/DILD induction Manthra(chant) that can be used while you are awake and at beginning of your sleep. This can be created such as:

"Next time somebody say that I am not dreaming, I will realize that I am dreaming and perform a Reality Check"

Is there any chance that you might have some qualms about lucid dreaming?

Doubtful, I have been highly interested in LD since highschool, Waking Life was what got me hooked on the idea back then lol, Think i may just be trying too hard...
