Hi, I've been working trying to get a lucid for 4 days, but still no dice. At least my dream recall is getting better, and I can remember about 2 dreams a night, maybe 3. How long was it for you to get your first lucid on purpose?

Be patient. It really depends on the person. Some have it past a week and some have it past months. I had mine past a month I think and it really sucked, only lasted 3 seconds. Just keep on dream journaling, RC throughout the day and MILD on nights. With hope you will have one soon.
Took me around a year and a month, so no wingeing yet. ;) though you are doing mch better in recall than I was doing. Just chose a method you want to try to gain lucidity and STICK with it. Like any skill or sport, Lucid Dreaming will take time to get down well.
Good luck .
I've had 6 LDs since I started two weeks ago but they were like 1 second LDs.
Just don't give up, 4-6 days doesn't mean a damn thing as far as I know concerning getting better at lucid dreaming.
I don't exactly remember... But I do recall being happy as fuck. It was just a quick DILD. Don't worry, yours will come soon.
5-6 weeks for me.
im a lucky one.
I got it on my first try :)
(I had recalled my dreams from the past 2 or 3 day's)
and set my alarm to go off three times in the morning with an hour in between.
I was able to do it on the second alarm I believe
I started keeping my dream journal on July 30th, and I had my first lucid dream on August 15th. I've always had good dream recall though, and I know that it varies from person to person, so just dont get discouraged and it'll happen when it happens!
It took me 8 years to get the first intentional, weeee!
a month , after 3 months i got them more and more
damnnn.. 8 yearss?? o.O... thats got to be wronggg... >.<
Around 3 months of interest in dreams, exploring, writing them down, checking reality and finding my dream signs. IMO it's really not that much about REACHING your first lucid, but getting the whole package so you can understand and get used to what you are doing. Then it gets a lot easier. If you are desperate for your first one (like many people are in the beginning) try not to overstress about it and just "let it go" a bit, cause thinking about it TOO much does more harm than good, atleast that's how it was for me.
Patience :)
Hello again.. i happened to have my first Intentional LD yesterday.. and well.. i began this LD journey less than a week a go.. so i think.. its true when they tell you that it is different for everyone the fast we get to have our first intentional lucid dream and how we progress at it, your just starting out just like me.. maybe you'll get it sooner than you think.
