anyone ever heard of or used this method?

while falling asleep i count in my head saying "1: i am dreaming, 2: I am dreaming" and so on. usually counting until about 200. I hope that this will carry on in to the dream and induce a lucid dream... is this considered the MILD technique. I also use mantras like "next time i dream i will do a reality check" but is this counting technique also considered a mantra? anyone ever do this?

Sounds more like a WILD to me. And MILD is much more than just repeating a mantra. Anyways go with the counting thing, see how that works for you. It comes naturally for some people.

I have to agree with WILD. I've used it a few times when first practicing the technique, but I may just start using this method again... Hm.
