A similar thing happened to me last night. I was in an elevator with 3 girls and someone asked us if we were dreaming. I immediately concluded I wasn't dreaming, but the girls started screaming, like in horror/excitement, as if they realized they were dreaming, so I thought "wait, this must mean I am dreami-" then I woke up just as the realization started to hit me.
It's odd because I was just wondering whether I should increment my LD count because of this, or whether it doesn't count. I think maybe I should, and that you should count it as a lucid dream, since you basically did the most difficult part in having a LD - realizing you're dreaming. Well the technical definition is dreaming while you know you're dreaming. So maybe the way to decide is to ask yourself if, in the dream, there was even an instant in which you knew that you were dreaming before waking up. In my case, it's hard to tell, because my brain was in the process of realizing I was dreaming when I woke up. Half a second more and I probably would have fully known I was dreaming. I guess I did realize the fact that I was dreaming a split second before waking up, but I hadn't absorbed the fact yet. It's hard to explain.
