crazy, i was right there and bame woke up :(

so last night i tried yet again to attained a lucid dream and i came the closest that i ever was. heres what happened....
so after waking up at about 4:30ish in the morning i couldnt fall back to sleep til about 6:00 and went right into a dream... the dream..well it seemed like i woke up on my living room couch and walked into the kitchen where i was throwing away a piece of gum i had in my mouth and as i turned 10-20 people where all around me and one asked(couldnt see faces) asked hows school? what about school? (I thought this is funny cause i hate school and not want to go to college or anything) i look away or said something like no, and turned to throw away again two more piece of gum out of my mouth and turned to walk up my stairs to me bed room as i look in my brothers room and see him packing(funny cause my brother doesnt live at home anymore) as i'm walking toward my room i stop(realizing my brother doesnt live at home) and say "wait I'm dreaming" and bam it felt like someone grabbed me(craziest feeling ever) and i woke up
soo i realized i was dreaming and woke up, doesnt count for a lucid dream i think so maybe tonight i"ll have better luck. what do you guys think?

A similar thing happened to me last night. I was in an elevator with 3 girls and someone asked us if we were dreaming. I immediately concluded I wasn't dreaming, but the girls started screaming, like in horror/excitement, as if they realized they were dreaming, so I thought "wait, this must mean I am dreami-" then I woke up just as the realization started to hit me.

It's odd because I was just wondering whether I should increment my LD count because of this, or whether it doesn't count. I think maybe I should, and that you should count it as a lucid dream, since you basically did the most difficult part in having a LD - realizing you're dreaming. Well the technical definition is dreaming while you know you're dreaming. So maybe the way to decide is to ask yourself if, in the dream, there was even an instant in which you knew that you were dreaming before waking up. In my case, it's hard to tell, because my brain was in the process of realizing I was dreaming when I woke up. Half a second more and I probably would have fully known I was dreaming. I guess I did realize the fact that I was dreaming a split second before waking up, but I hadn't absorbed the fact yet. It's hard to explain.

yeah its hard to say, i know what you mean, i don't think i should call mine lucid cause i had to control and woke up the sec i knew i was dreaming, it felt like someone grabbed me and pulled me out of the dream before i had control over anything
