When you MILD, do you say the mantra in your head, or out loud?

Sorry for double posting (I can't find the Edit button, GAH!) but I forgot to mention that I am trying MILD tonight, and do you use WBTB or no prior sleep for it?
You can say it out loud or in your head, but usually as a rule of thumb people say it in their head, but, either way is okay.
And you can use MILD anytime, during WBTB, or right as you go to sleep, any time really :)

WBTB will probably produce better results. Most of my MILDs are during WBTB. I've had a few MILDs without it, but those were thanks to REM rebound. Generally WBTB is the best time to do any technique.
