I woke up in the middle of a dream in SP. How close was it?

So last night i had a very short dream, it involved me talking with some random middle aged guy. He said:

"So are we in one of those dream things?"
as soon as that happens in my dream i do a RC (i was not lucid so i did not control any of it)
So, i do a RC and as soon as i realize as its a dream i wake up in sleep paralysis but i knew i was awake but i could not open my eyes or move my body. All of the sudden i feel these vibrations around my whole body and a very loud ringing sound. This only lasted like 8 sec not including the dream.

What i want to know is how close was i to a lucid dream?

You probably could have performed a WILD while you experienced SP.
If it happens again try to anchor yourself.

your excitement after realizing you were dreaming pulled your consciousness back to your body. so you ended up with your mind awake and your body still asleep. (Sp) My humble advice is to remain calm next time u become lucid act like u didn't even notice and go on about your business. peace.

Hmm, I would say that if you realized you were dreaming while inside of a dream then it was lucid - despite how brief it may have been.

Congrats! Work on controlling your emotions and not getting overly excited when you do realize you are dreaming. That was a problem I used to have a lot when I first started lucid dreaming. I remember in my first lucid dream, I realized I was dreaming and screamed, "HOLY %@#$ EVERYONE LOOK AT ME I'M DREAMING." Yeah, a little over-enthusiastic because the dream ended :)
