Attaining lucid dreams with a 9 hour long mp3?

Even when you sleep your real bodys senses are functionating in the reald world. You can hear the sound of your environment, or can smell etc. Nova Dreamer LD machine (which is can sense when you dream by eye movement) use light and sound to make you realize when you are dreaming, however with a little math and testing its possible to create a simple 9-10 hour long mp3 file, which is containe a message what is warn you when you in a REM session. REM sessions approximately occurs in the same pattern, after the same amount of sleep. So it can be count out when you need to put a sound message into the 9-10 hour long blank file. This file is can be created with a simple music maker program.

Well at least this is the theory.

A 9 hour long mp3 file with a 128 bitrate quality is about 420-450 MB (if i counted properly) so its possible to put on even a older mp3 player.

You have to be aware enough to notice the signals, though - if you don't practice waking skepticism as to whether or not you could be dreaming, and general awareness, you'll ignore the signs most of the time. Since awareness itself is enough to induce a DILD, it sort of defeats the purpose of the NovaDreamer. But it is a good theory.

I thought that i record my voice when i say something like that: you dreaming dude. I dont think so that i need to so aware to realize that i dreaming after i hear that. But you are right, it's writen in prof Tholey-s book that first lucid dreams cant be induced with machines. However i think it's not fully true without awarness this thecnique is useless.

What about if you use it during your waking life too?

It'd work as a variation of MILD - if lucid dreaming is constantly on your mind, you'll be more likely to have a LD. :)

I was thinking that in stead of building such a huge file, Why don't you build small files which could help to properly adjust it to any personal sleep cycle. I mean, as it's known that sleep cycles last 1 hour and a half aproximately. It's possible to build, just for saying, 9 "silence" tracks of 10 min each, and the "signal" track could be placed after all of them, and play the list again and again...

I dont like the idea of big file either, but because the REM cycles becames longer and longer during sleep, you cant aim properly with a 90 min long track list. Maybe you can catch the first REM cycle but it will alarm earlyier in the other REM stages.

What would happen if you set the list for a shorter time, may be every 45 min?

It's dosent really change anything.

But you got me an idea anyway:D. I make the full sound file, than divide it to two group. In the first group there will be the blank parts. In the others the ones which are include the messages. And i just simple change the blank parts bitrate to 8 which will lower the size of the file. I didnt change the order of the parts. Than i put the parts into a tracklist. If my calculation right the full 9-10 hour long tracklist will be about 60-70 MB or maybe much smaler i dont know.

I would make it with a freeware music maker, and attache it to the sound files, so anyone could change the timing, and personalize it.
