question about sleep paralysis

I have a bunch of flexeril (muscle relaxer) that was prescribed. do you think it would help induce sleep paralysis? Like, say i had been up all day and was going to go to bed like a regular night and i took some, would it help induce it? Because in the past i've never been able to attain SP when i first go to bed.
I'm curious because i had taken some last night and they were kicking in pretty good as i was sitting at my computer still, and i started to already feel insane, what felt like roll signals coming on. any opinions?

Well, flexeril can definitely put you in a sense of super relaxation, but hitting SP when first going to sleep will still be very hard. Even if you manage to get into SP, the transition can be extremely difficult. The REM periods toward the beginning of sleep are really short and take a while to really get started (hence the recommendation for getting a few hours of sleep first). It is very possible to WILD early, but it would be 100x's easier if you got a few hours of sleep, woke up, then took a recommended dose, and tried to WILD. Better yet, take your dose during the day and try to nap WILD. I recommend trying to nap WILD 1-8 hours after waking in the morning. You can do it later on, but keep in mind that the longer you wait, the harder it will become.

Note: Flexeril won't help you get lucid, but it will assist you in your preparation for sleep (make you tired, super relaxed, etc). This could assist you in getting SP, but its not going to actually grant you SP.

another quick question is...how do stay awake when attempting to WILD 4-6 hours after going to sleep. It's like I wake up...get up for 10 min, feel fine like I could lay there for a while but a few minutes after laying back down Im gone without even noticing.

Well, you may want to extend the period of time that you are awake (during your WBTB). If you seem to be crashing out after 10 minutes, try to stay awake for 15 or 20 minutes next time. Also, what do you use as an anchor during your WILD attempt and what WILD method do you use? Anchors are used to help hold onto your consciousness for times like these.

It may help if you have trouble physically relaxing on your own, but I doubt it would help induce SP. I used to be prescribed flexeril. Usually no matter how many I took I only felt slightly relaxed, and any of my friends that tried it would simply pass out. Might have to do with the fact I have ADHD, though. Anyway, while I was taking it, I was told by my doctor to take it before bed, which I did. It never induced SP in me, but that's not to say that it couldn't (although it's doubtful it does).

Well..usually I try to count. But what happens is..I feel fine and pretty awake so i dont start counting yet and i just let my mind wonder. (planning to start counting when i feel more tired).
any ideas on a really good anchor for someone that has a hard time focusing on one thing at a time?

You may simply have to experiment with a few different anchors and try to see which ones really work well for you. I simply use my vision as an anchor. I just observe the darkness the entire time. I work toward sleep, but always keep a casual watch on everything in my vision. Once the HI starts, I observe it as well as the other hallucinations. I also like fan noise as an anchor. I always liked using these type of anchors over some of the more active anchors like counting numbers, paying attention to or counting breaths, sleeping on a small object, etc. I always liked the more passive anchors where I am just observing something (hearing or vision mostly). Just experiment around and see what works best for you.
