A way I became lucid

Hi everyone. I had a dream where I searched for something in my pocket, but it wasn't there. I thought to myself, 'But I always carry this everywhere!' I didn't become lucid, but when I woke, I had an idea.

I kept telling myself I will check my pockets in my dream. So as a form of reality checking. I kept checking my pockets for something that wasn't there. (In my case, a guild medallion from fable 3 i got in the collectors edition)

When I went to bed. I put the medallion in my pocket. And in my dream, I took it out of my pocket. I thought to myself. This shouldn't be in my pocket in my waking life, therefore i am dreaming.

So the idea is to keep checking your pockets for something you will only put in your pocket when you go to sleep. When you find that it is not in your pocket, you will know you haven't gone to sleep yet. When you do find it in your pocket, you will know you are dreaming.

Anything that gets you to test reality will be extremely helpful. If checking your pockets work for you, then go for it. Some people prefer other reality checks. As long as you can keep up with your reality checking the lucid dreams will just keep coming.

Cool, I think this is a good idea, I might try it out. I think it would be great for people who have family heirlooms or other items that they always have on them.
