Anyone tried this?
So I believe it's general knowledge that to effectively DILD you have to learn to distinguish the "feel" between reality and dreams.
So does anyone, as they're going to bed, take five minutes or so and just sit/lay and meditate and focus on the feel of the real world? Kind of like a variation on MILD, except instead of reciting a mantra as you drift off, you practice that complete awareness stuff until you fall asleep?
Hopefully that intent crosses into your dream

This reminds me of the CDFILD technique.
Yeah, this is an excellent method!

I've practiced what you describe a lot, but usually during the day. I don't do it as much when I'm in bed, but I should give it a shot tonight and see what it's like when the lights are off and I'm relaxed.

I think I will try it and tell you in a while what my results are
-
I'll give it a shot tonight too

I practice what you talk about as part of my regular awareness during the day - and it's been transferring over into my dreams. In a couple of recent lucids I haven't seen something odd and RC'd, instead I am just naturally aware that I am dreaming because of the 'feel' :) I think it's definitely something everyone should use to reach their LD's.

Well I totally failed last night. I got caught up listening to Brother Firetribe and then just fell asleep. Dang it.

I just do lots of reality checks throughout the day. I do mantras instead of focusing on the real world.
