Is this a good schedule / method?

Ok, so, although I haven't had an LD yet, I think I have worked out a method that will maximize my chances. The idea is that it combines many techniques / methods together. Here's what I have:

1) I'm practicing All Day Awareness, people have already told me I am doing this well, and effectively.

2) Regular and Irregular reality checks, both hourly and when I notice something slightly odd / weird / strange.

3) Afternoon naps at around 2:00PM wherever possible / I have enough time.

4) Drinking lots of water before bed, as I find waking up with an alarm to be very uncomfortable and it stresses me out.

5) Repeat a mantra when I'm first going to bed, visualise what I want to dream about and KNOW that I will become lucid.

6) Wake up after a sleep-cycle (thanks to water) and perform a reality check in case it's a False Awakening.

7) Write anything I remember in my DJ.

8) Pee! And drink more water!

9) WILD.

Repeat steps 6-9 until morning!

This isn't really MY technique... It's technically just ADA, regular RCs, looking for DS, MILD, WBTB and WILD merged into one technique! Anyhow, any regular LDers out there - What do you think? Is it good, are there any more techniques I could jam into it that would increase my chances even more? Thank Youu :D

The more isn't the merrier, to a degree. I would say you are doing the right amount, without it becoming a chore or something "you have to do". Trying to LD should be fairly fun and simple. If you can do all that with no stress and you feel confident, then it's good. If you feel tired after each night or you find it difficult to keep up that schedule, then let some things go.

I would say that is what pretty much everyone does on here, save the drinking water to wake up and you R.C. timeframe.

You should consider if you can sustain this routine consistently. For me, if I tried to nap everyday and then WILD in the middle of every night, it would throw my rhythm off. I would be tired throughout the day but not sleepy enough at night to fall asleep quickly. But maybe you are used to that rhythm and it's comfortable. Just something to consider. Overall, a healthy and consistent sleep cycle is the most important part of dreaming, even though it's often overlooked.

I'd also suggest writing down your goals. This can be in addition to or in place of the mantras. It's not enough just to want to have lucid dreams, you need to want to do something specific with them. That will engage your unconscious mind to help you achieve lucidity. I'm sure you have goals in mind but it's important to write them down. Writing helps to organize your thoughts and solidify them in your mind. So write down a big list of all your goals and desires. You can look at it and add to it over time. Then each night, pick one goal and focus on that for the night.

Wow, if you really stick to that schedule, you will have amazing dreams. If I were you, I would only try the night time routine every few days. Maybe only on weekends, or on days you know you will be able to sleep in. Our bodies have a way of adjusting to accommodate a new routine. I have the most success when I keep a regular sleep schedule, then interrupt it on days where I want to WILD.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to drop a lot of the 'components' of this method, It would mess with my sleeping pattern too much. I might mess around with it a little, but for now I'm going to stick to my ADA and MILDing, maybe I'll attempt a WILD once I've actually had my first LD :P I nearly got lucid twice in the same dream once, I think it was June/July? It's in my DJ on here. But anyways, I kind of stopped thinking about LDing directly afterwards and my recall went to shit. This morning I had my first really really vivid dream in months.

This might really wear you out quickly though, but it's possible. You can even do a few steps one night, then a few the next, so you're not overwhelming yourself, and being let down if you don't have an LD. Which is something that happens to people. Try to keep persistent and confident though no matter what :) you're find something that works perfect for you soon ~~
