Do Power Bracelets Help Attain Lucidy?

Hello everybody. I was l thinkingtoday about those power bracelets that many people are wearing lately. They supposedly give you energy and balance. They even help people sleep better. I was wonderig if somehow these bracelets will make you more aware in a dream because you have more energy. Also if someone were to try and WILD I wonder if they can get in SP or a dream faster. I currently have one called energy armor. I normally reach SP in around 2 minutes with the bracelet on (I never take it off). I'll do some tests with out it on answer if that affects anything. What do you guys think?

Those bracelets are nothing more than a placebo. This thread should be moved to Beyond Dreaming.

I don't meen to be rude, but you don't really know the science behind them. I actually have family members who helped invent some of them. Please leave your opinion to yourself...

Didn't the manufacturer of Balance Bands release a statement admitting they really are worthless?

You should test the snake oil I mean braclets and see if they help you with your own lucids. We would all be interested to hear your results.

I am neutral to the topic of "does it work" but I think that the responses here are pretty brutal and uncalled for. Personally I believe if you do test it the results may be a little unstable. By this I mean that WILDing (which I have not obtained and do not claim to have experience I only know what I read and hope to do be successful at it when I try) takes a certain concentration/relaxation. If I took off something that I never wear such as my necklace I think it would distract me from my goal because I would be thinking about how awkward I feel. That is how I think it would go for me personally. I think "No. It does not work." No offense but the responses seemed uninformed with little to no thought put into them. They appear to be random anger and ignorance. I do not think it would make much of a difference to wear it in the way that it is said to change your energy level and balance but I have been slightly curious as to whether or not the bracelets do help but am simply not willing to spend fifty dollars to find out. Some people look at it as wizardry and say "NOT POSSIBLE" while others realize that your body is controlled by chemicals and such so it is possible. Sort of how some people think that depression is for idiots and immature people looking for attention even though many scientists will state with confidence that many cases of depression stem from an error in which the brain does not get a sufficient amount of serotonin (happy chemicals.) ant it makes it harder for the person. I tend to ramble but basically, whether people believe it or not I say you should try it and others should be a little more open minded. This website is about SP, Lucid dreaming and questioning reality as well as other things. There are many people out there who would talk down to everyone here about what we are doing so for one of us to talk down to you for going deeper into it and trying other things is ridiculous.

Also. I know that my previous post is probably causing a little confusion but I am really tired right now. Bleg. I am taking a nap. I hope my comment helped at least a little.

I'm not a scientist or anything but my brother said it has something to do with negative ions. By the way I do know that the power band is fake but there are some that may be true. My brother firmly believes that it works so I don't know. I am sorry if my post before seemed a little rude. I am really tired from a WBTB last night that kind of went wrong. ;)

I hadn't heard of power bracelets before, I didn't have to look very far to find plenty of evidence that they are nothing more than a placebo. (IIG | Power Balance) (BBC News - Power Balance band is placebo, say experts) There's no science behind the bracelets, there's no such thing as 'holographic technology' or a 'natural energy field'. It's nothing more than a scam by ruthless people who are happy to take the money of gullible and impressionable people.

There's always plenty of people posting comments preaching open-mindedness, which I fully support, but the same people are often the ones who are completely closed-minded when it comes to any evidence that disputes their beliefs. Anyone who heard about the bracelets and didn't think to question the claims that the manufacturers or supporters have made should see this as a warning sign because there are plenty of other disgusting people ready to take advantage of you.

Theres only one problem with pseudoscience (google this term) like this.
Its impossible to prove they work using experiments and clinically significant data, but also impossible to disprove with pure science.

The negative ions is a complete hoax, but believing the mental effects of wearing the bracelet is analogous to believing in a religion.
It really dosent matter how it works, if it works for you then by all means you should believe in it.

Well, if you ask me, I don't believe in all that rubber-band-on-your-wrist-to-help-you-balance-and-give-you-power bullshi- mumbo jumbo, but hey, if putting a piece of rubber with a shiny circle in the middle of it gives you the confidence, then I say go for it dewd!

the only thing that helps with lucid dreaming is the mind. Items that represent something that people put faith in is often how the mind draws on its power to creat change. Beliefe in something that is strong enough can make reality to an extent. In my opinion the mind can do the same thing if it has faith in itself. To attain lucidity make yourself believe that you are going to lucid dream.

Totally agreeing with this. I would say more but I don't want to start an argument.

It sounds like your brother was trying to help you by convincing you that it works. I hate to say it, but it's a hoax. The Australians made a big thing about it, because if the advertisements are faulty there and you buy something, then you can send it back and get your money back.

Beleive it or dont beleive it, either way your right

homeopathic medicine = fake medicine. And advertising it otherwise is simply wrong.

This thread is in the "Attaining Lucidity" section because it may help others. In all of my posts on this thread not one of them said to buy this product. This is an experiment and nothing else. I can judge that you are relatively new here by looking at your join date. If you want to troll threads that is up to you. Thank you anyways for bringing this to my attention even though this thread has no connection to advertising at all. If you may, what here actually sounds like advertising to you so I can fix it up just so this incident will not happen again...

Randocity wasn't saying you were breaking any rules. He was saying that calling homeopathic medicine something other than fake medicine was wrong.

I don't believe power bracelets are real at all. But beyond that, why would they help with lucid dreaming? I can't imagine why they would.

Rather than disregarding what everyone here is saying maybe you can simply accept what appears to be true. If you aren't willing to listen to our answers why bother asking the question?

I have only posted in this thread two times before this post. One of them was to a member who I thought was acting unnecessary and the other to a person who I thought was telling me I was breaking rules because he linked to the rules page. Anyways, I would hardly call it disregarding everything everyone here is saying. There are 14 different people here and I have let this thread discuss with intervening only when nessiciary. I would hardly call it disregarding everybody. In fact, there have been many posts here that have changed my viewpoint entirely. To be exact look at posts 6,7,9,12,13,14 (partially),15, and 18. As you see I am paying my full attention to everybody's posts and I am taking them all into consideration. The other posts on this thread were either backing up the posts I mentioned or they were the 2 that were unessisary.

I didn't say you were breaking an rules, to advertise something is simply to show it to an audience, typically in a positive light. I am using advertise as a synonym of portray, sorry if that was unclear.
