Well, I was in a car accident...

My sixteen year old brother and I were driving down the road. He was driving, we hit wet leaves, did a 180 and flew backwords 25 ft into a massive creek/woods. The ditch was probably 50 ft deep, but we didn't fall in. No airbags went off, the car runs fine, all that broke is the front left tire axle and a big dent in the door behind me. If it wouldn't have been wet outside or if we would've been a few inches farther to either side, I would have died. but we survived. Barely. (If I didn't believe in God enough before then, I sure do now. Note: I'm an avid Christian, and proud of it. So this is saying something)

Anyways, would trauma (and a minor headache) hinder (i love big words :lol: ) my ability to become lucid? I usually WILD, but still, in general?

I think that depending on how traumatized you are it might make a difference. If you hear stuff in SP when you WILD you might hear tire wheels screeching or screaming, but since you seem to have a strong faith in God just believe he will protect you and you will be fine. :)

I seriously doubt it, unless it has hindered other more vital mental functions. Maybe if you had a concussion or similar trauma that is severely impairing your memory or reasoning it might affect your ability to recognize the dream, but short of that I would say no.

P.S. I hate to be the pessimist, but if it hadn't been raining you wouldn't have hit the wet leaves in the first place, shit happens, and its usually meaningless. (also hinder is a 6 letter word)

Emotional trauma can only help lucid dreamers. Think of it as a balance rod between two states of consciousness.

Assuming you're referring only to emotional (not physical) trauma, it shouldn't make a difference. The only dream-related thing I can think of that it might affect would be if you have nightmares about it, but nightmares themselves shouldn't affect your ability to become lucid. I for one have found that nightmares actually make it easier for me to become lucid, but I doubt that's true of everyone.

All in all, I wouldn't worry about it too much, at least in terms of your ability to lucid dream.

I would think that any injury or pain that "hinders" your ability to sleep comfortably might interfere. It all depends on if you can sleep comfortably enough to dream. Last week I had a stomach virus and even though I slept, I tossed and turned all night and never made it into a deep sleep. Hope this helps.

I meant if we would have been in the same accident, wet leaves or none, then we would've flipped lol
and "hinder" is a more fancy word than a lot of people on here use :P


And thanks everyone! last night I couldn't remember any dreams, but then a few minutes ago I wished we had snow and remembered that in my dream it was snowing :)
