This probably isn't the response you hoped for, but what's a ''REM dreamer''?
Its a device you can get which goes over your eyes when your sleeping and detects REM with your eyes and gives you light and sound cues which can help you realize your dreaming and give you consciousness in dreams so creates Lucid dreams.Quote:

Heres my take on the REM Dreamer. Some wonder if it works---YES. At least sometimes. here is my SAD story. What has Failed is ME, not the MASK. the First 2 times i used it , i had used the time prior to rec'ing it to Train re: Light Anomolies during day. the first night i got it i was excited and put it on and had 1-2 short LDs with no prob, i noticed it only cued me 6-8 times so i adjusted the SENS . The next night i had 10 (!) LDs due the Unit cuing me about 20 times. Most were short 1-5 min's although about 3 were long (for me) about 5-10 mins. these 2 times i wore the Mask at Bedtime vs putting it on later at WBTB. Needless to say i was EXCITED. THEN...... Dont know what happened, i think it is related to what EV (a user here) calls "Hunting mode", i applied his "Non-Induction" methods but failed . this was 1 year ago. I have not been able to had a SINGLE LD since those first 2 nites. Its something in me that is blocking it as the Mask PROVED itself (ie: 10 LDs in 1 night, due to CUES by LEDS-so not Placebo). I am hoping EV or others , esp some using the Mask can offer an Outside opinion as to what my prob is. I try to Relax and act as if not even wearing it, i can get to sleep with it , but there is a subtle Anxiety-Performance vibe that keeps me from Heavy sleep, so when i wear it , i cant drop off to sleep and keep having to add more DELAY to it .
Anyway, i hope MASK users will chime in and we can shoot the idiosyncracies of the MASK around and refine its use and training, as there seems to be no FORUM just for it and not alot on net about it.
Also , i hope i can figure out and remedy this bizarre issue (blockage) i have with it...it friggin works, yet i feel cut off from it !! VERY Frustrating!

i also feel there are NEW , Induction Techniques or refinements , as well as Psyco-Physical training (specific ways to Trick the Mind Body when going to sleep with this on) that needs to be developed around this unit ( perhaps we can START now on these) . Obviously it (REM Dreamer) works, yet the mind can fall into some sort of trap which then Blocks it. Almost seems in my case as if Subconsciously my ego DID NOT LIKE AWARENESS going into the hidden depths and has erected a block, which i feel helpless about (dont know what or how it happened or what to do to remedy it) . i think EV's theories (search "DRY SPELL") are in the ballpark (however i was excited on first 2 uses and it worked great - although i was not yet feeling like "i know this works" - but i dont see how that caused the Psych Block) , but there is a diff when comes to the Mask.
Hello. I have a 'REM Dreamer' and also the plug-in module that delivers audio cues with the light cues. It has been sat in my drawer for a couple of years. I found the mask strap to be uncomfortable so I added some extra padding to the strap making it a lot more comfortable. I found it hard to go to sleep to, I just don't like anything on my face, I have to sleep naked and can't sleep if I have a t-shirt on. I would wake up and the mask would be far away from my bed so I must have pulled it off in my sleep and flung it away. I don't remember doing this but there were times that the control panel recorded several activations of the light cues. As I can't perform Wake Back To Bed lucid dreaming at the moment I might dig it out and give it another go.
10 lucids in one night is awesome !!!
yeah - i have similar issue with stuff on me when i sleep - even to point that i'd rather sleep on couch than w my GF. Im a light sleeper. Strange thing is the first 2 times i used it didnt bother me AT ALL. now it does - seems subconscious and suspect (ie - ego HATES Lucid Dreaming so makes obstacles). I am also exploring this block i mentioned MAY be a Self Fulfilling prophecy - like 'i feared the loss of this or feared a Dry Spell or Doubted the results and it got into Subconscious.
Yeah - give it another Go !! We all need to mess w it so we can learn how to work around its quirks and shoot it around on here - if we try to go it alone, we'll prob give up or it will take a lonnnnggg time.
