Training Your Logic Center?

When you dream, the logic center of your brain shuts down. This is why you can have bizarre dreams and think everything is completely normal. If I'm not mistaken, when you become lucid, part - if not all - of your logic center clicks back on. Knowing this, and that your brain is able to be trained, is it possible to train your brain to sleep with your logic center on to allow for more common lucid dreams?

This is not a question I want direct answers to, I want to see what YOU guys can discuss and agree upon.

My answer: I think it's completely possible, but would take an immense amount of dedication.

Sounds possible, to me. How would you go about doing this? It sounds similar to reality checking.

Wouldn't that partially be the defintion of lucid vs. non-lucid dreams? I don't see how your logic center could be on in regular dreams or you'd know you were dreaming.

I guess coming up with a "command" that the brain recognizes, sort of like a mantra. And the only reason I thought of this is because I have difficulty reality checking. I have some really bizarre dreams that make 0 sense, and I don't even notice that I'm dreaming. I had a dream I was in a video game with 2 friends, and didn't notice. (I slapped myself for that one)

That's kind of my point...It WOULDN'T be on in regular dreams, unless you TRAIN it like that. My point is that you would have completely unintentional lucid dreams almost every time, just because you were "taught" that way. To put it short, this would technically get rid of (or nearly get rid of) your normal dreams, and replace them with all/almost all lucid.

But how would the training be any different than for lucidity?

I would say that it is impossible by natural means. However, if a drug were ever invented that induced lucid dreaming it would be the most addictive drug ever. Why would anyone want to be in the real world when they would be a superhero (or villain) in a lucid dream?

Training the logic center of the brain is not as hard as one might think. I am VERY logically minded in the waking world and at times I believe it flows over into my dreams causing LDs. When I'm awake I do believe in things beyond the five sense, but I also believe there is a logical basis to everything. For instance in my mind, magic is just a term for a process that has yet to be understood. As to causing LDs because of this, I know at least one LD was triggered by something just too far fetched to believe even in a dream

Im not sure logic is as important, as most people would know that an elephant riding a motorbike would only happen in a dream, the trick is getting the logic to switch on for you to be able to realise that, which i beleive would come down to general awareness. Maybe someone could explain what part of the brain awareness comes from? The lucids i've had i already knew i was dreaming, subconsciously i assume we always know when we are dreaming, but it comes down to as whether we remember the implications of it being a dream and that we can take action, or as to whether we wish to act upon it or are too engrossed in the dream plot. For instance one dream started where i already knew i was dreaming, nothing told me i just knew, its my brain after all, but my subconscious urged me to just follow the dream, the more attention i payed to the thought of it being a dream/awareness of it, i guess my brain started to power up, the logic switched on and i thought hey you know what this is actually a dream so im taking control

Some people's minds seem to try to logically justify things that are illogical. Example, 'I am doing stuff that is totally impossible, oh wait, I am playing a video game (suddenly I notice that I am looking into a screen holding a controller or mouse)'. Strange how I don't think that I could be dreaming during theses moments.
