i want to try DIELD (upon awakening i will remain still and try to re-enter the dream lucidly) as best as i can, but to do this i have to remain still which means that i cannot record the dream that i just had and i will most likely forget it later. what should i do?
Go on with the attempt. When you DEILD you do not record the dream. Instead you perform the technique and hopefully enter a lucid dream :) many times you will probably fall asleep and forget the dream you had that night all together (unless you recall it that morning after like 6 more dreams :P) it's just part of what you have to deal with while trying the technique, but through practice you will become fluent.
When attempting to DEILD I go through the dream in my head multiple times and use auto suggestion to remember it in the morning in the event that I fail and fall asleep. Repetition of the dream and details plus auto suggestion create a plan B for me so I usually remember the dream just as vividly in the morning as I did when I woke up to attempt a DEILD :) hope this helps.
thanks alot for that, ive been trying to Lucid dream for over a month now and i still cant do it :@ whenever i go to sleep my dreams are very rarely similar so there are only a couple of dream signs that i have. Do you reality check often? Using the MILD technique helps me recall pretty much every dream i have that night, but i have to choose DIELD or MILD and i dont know which one. which one do you preferr?
Im like you. I have slim to no luck with DILD, which I am trying to work on. I've mastered both WILD and DEILD with a good amount of experience in MILD. If I had to choose between the two I would say DEILD because I like seeing the results faster and for me I have more success :)
I'm recording all my dreams through the night (usually 6-10) and really try hard to find similarities. Also make sure you look for the dream scene, where it took place. Common situations are also good to look for if you can't find common objects or people. Make sure when you write your dreams down to include as many details as possible. Colors, texture, lighting, any detail you can recall.
in dield, do you have to wake up from a dream in the middle of a REM period, or just wake up naturally and stay still?
Naturally and stay still. You should naturally wake up after a REM period at the end of a dream.
