It actually worked!!
It was about 11:30 at night and i was resting in bed when i thought of this crazy idea. I heard from somebody that you can talk to your unconsious mind to stop an unwanted habbit or to help reach a certain goal. So i imagined my unconsious mind as a person in my mind and asked it to remind me to do an RC when i was dreaming. I didnt have any dreams until around 5am but i dreamt of this ghost chasing me . I got scared and ran to my house to hide from it. Then out of nowhere i said " you know what this may be a dream i will do an RC so i did that finger through your palm thing and it was a dream! Then every thing seemed crisp and clear. But i had a false awakening and then woke up for real. It may not have been a full LD but i cant believe that talking to my unconsious mind actually worked i never thought it would remind me. Next time if it works though i'm gonna try staying lucid longer. :)

Congrats! I'll try that tonight, telling myself to do a reality check during a dream. I usually only tell myself to wake up after each dream and remember it. It's weird, it doesn't really work that way for me. I'll wake up between REM cycles and remember nothing, but in the morning I'll wake up and remember almost every part of my dreams.

Congratulations! Was that your first LD, or just the first that you achieved by actually trying? In any case, it sounds like you may have found a method that will work for you. Way to go! :)

Good job, now I've got another idea for you...Simple punctuation! haha
The finger through palm thing failed me, I got mad when I woke up.

Finger through the palm doesn't work with me.The most reliable one for me is the Nose Plugging one, where you plug your nose and try to breathe out of it.Thats worked good for me.
-
Congrads,
sounds like an easy method.

When you talked to your sub conscious did you keep talking to it until you fell asleep or did you just do it once and then go to sleep as normal?
-
lol I do the nose one a lot in my dreams. Recently i was doing it in my dream (non-lucid) and i kept wondering why i could breathe, so i tried over and over again. but i could still breathe. with no realisation of me bein asleep. Im gonna try that subconcious method tonight.. :D

Anyone else succeed with the method?

When I first read about this I tried it but probably in the wrong fashion. It basically included me telling myself “Come on guy... how bout just 1 lucid dream eh?" and that was it. Of course nothing happened. I re-read this a few days later and decided to try again, but put a little more effort into it. It felt silly at first because the whole time I was aware I was just talking to myself but I started asking myself questions and answering them ("Why haven’t I had a lucid dream yet?" "I don't know" "Well you’re useless" "Says something about yourself doesn't it?") nd basically. At one point I decided that if I couldn't have an LD at least improve my dream recall (The past three weeks I have had a lot of trouble recalling anything) While I didn't have an LD last night I did remember two long and detailed dreams which now make up probably one of my longest dream journal entries I have ever written.
I plan to keep up with this and see if it helps any further. Nothing to lose.
