MILD vs Autosuggestion
Hi,
I was just a little bit confused about the difference between autosuggestion and MILD. The difference seems to be prospective memory, and Laberge puts a lot of emphasis on this and gives exercises on how to improve it. But I'm having trouble telling the difference between what is prospective memory and whats just autosuggestion.
Ex. "I will lucid dream tonight, or very soon."
Would this be just autosuggestion or prospective memory? If it's just autosuggestion, could you give me an example of prospective memory?
Thanks,
McD

Not sure, but this is what I think :
MILD is a technique, in which you use reality checks, daytime awareness and mantras. Mantras are another word for affirmations or autosuggestion, in my opinion. In all of them you let your mind know what you would like to happen and you also reassure yourself about the same.
I would recommend not using future tens in any of these affirmations/mantras/ autosuggestions. Our mind interprets 'I will' as anytime in the future, just not know. Only time that exists for our mind is 'now'. At least in this context.
If there is any difference between the names, I'm not sure it makes a huge difference for lucid dreaming purposes.

Thanks I'll try and take out the future tense from my mantras and see if that helps. I don't think that in a traditional MILD (laberge method) there are reality checks or daytime awareness needed, although there seems to be tons of variance on this site.
