WILD attempt - stuck - need some advice

I've succeeded WILDing once, but I've run into problem now that I can't seem to get past. I tried to WILD yesterday and after a couple of hours or something I was like: "Bah, this isn't working, screw this..." However, when I opened my eyes I could see myself lying right next to me, or at least it looked like a shadowy outline of my face, and when I moved my lips I could see the shadow moving. I lifted up my arms and tried to look at them, which resulted in my "astral" arms (or what I'm supposed to call them) separating from my real arms. I was like :shock: and then moved my legs. Eventually, I was completely free except for my stupid head which seemed locked into position. So basically it felt like this...

...and my question is, how do I move on into a dream world from there?

That is exactly what happens to me when I WILD. My body starts free floating just like in that picture, although I'm usually laying on my stomach. As it floats higher it puts the feeling of increasing pressure on my neck. Quite uncomfortable but endurable. When my body has rotated about 90 degrees upward I just use a strong intention to force my dream body to move under my control and continue that rotation. My body seems to know at that point that it is moving into a position that it can't actually be in without serious damage to the neck so my head breaks free from the pillow. This allows me to complete the rotation and land on my feet in a dream. This also works if I'm floating horizontally instead of vertically. 90 degrees of rotation seem to be the critical point where you can start forcing your dream body to move.

I'm glad to hear I'm not alone. So basically I should focus on the idea of "flipping myself over" so that I eventually look like this in order to break free?

Also, how do I separate this from having an OBE? I mean, once I break free, how do I Lucid Dream?

Lol those pictures crack me up. Floating is such a funny feeling.

What's happening is your mind is stuck with dual awareness. It's aware of part of your real body in one position and part of your dream body in another. As long as it's recognizing both you'll have a hard time doing anything. If you force your dream body into a position that your real body couldn't possibly be in at that moment you force your mind to choose one over the other. If you recognize your dream body as the one you want that's what you'll get.

You are already in a lucid dream. The difference between an OBE and a lucid dream is only in your perception of the experience. You can turn a lucid dream into an OBE and an OBE into a lucid at any moment. The technique for achieving an OBE and a WILD are exactly the same.
