I posted a rant on a post earlier about feeling like I have been training and practicing forever and nothing sticks. I'd like to know your techniques and procedures you do or have done which have made your lucids stick. My favorite is the WBTB BUT it just sucks feeling groggy every damned morning.. What do you do? How do you do it? Minute details are encouraged lol
I am a natural lucid dreamer with tinnitus (ringing ears) . Most nights I have no lucid dream at all. The bulk of my LD's come as a DILD ( I think the tinnitus helps) . When I try to have lucid dreams I use visualization techniques combined with progressive muscle relaxation... the combination induces a self-hypnotic condition. It takes practice. I will say one thing, however. I have something going for me that some don't as I have had numerous (too many to count) lucid dreams and I know they exist. If someone hasn't had any LD's it is like trying to get yourself to believe in Santa Clause. But I can tell you that LD's are very real (so to speak).

You already have 50 lucids, what method did you use for those
WBTB mostly helps for me... when i'm able to wake up for it :)
But other than that just making my awareness higher with certain techniques is what i do... for example ADA (or ADSA), Reverse RC, ect...
Sometimes i attempt a WILD, but it's rare when i succeed with that, DILDs are easier to me :)
WBTB but it doesn't seem to be working anymore! :( I know my routine by heart.. it's 6 hours sleep wake up listen to binaraul(spell check) beats for about 15-20 minutes then go back to sleep.. It was working beautifully but now nothing.. It's so weird because man times throughout the day I'm doing reality checks, thinking about lucid dreaming, what I'm going to try to do tonight... It's all I think about and practice but even that doesn't seem to be enough..Quote:

It was way easier than the first time(s) around. I had a lucid dream every other time I napped, and when I didn't, it was because the nap wasn't long enough and I didn't dream. I was focused, had goals, and kept lucid dreaming and reality checking in my conscious thoughts prior to nap time.
So I say, build a strong foundation now, with whatever technique works best for you. It'll pay off eventually!

For me successful and consistent LD'ing has nothing to do with techniques or procedures, and everything to do with the fundamentals of self-awareness and memory.
Master self-awareness and learn to switch your memory back on (or prevent it from being turned off by normal physical sleep processes), throw in a litlle expectation and intent, and any technique will work fine for you... With more consistently positive results.
I honestly think that way too much is made of technique in the LD'ing world these days, and not enough about the things you have to have before you use the techniques. Of course the bit you might not want to hear is that it can take quite a while, even years, to master the fundamentals. Nothing wonderful is ever easy, I'm afraid.

One other note that someone else mentioned, I think: you might consider backing off a bit. WBTB by its nature can get pretty tedious if you doing it every day. You might consider picking one or two days a week to do it. That way you can better focus on each effort, so your consistency might improve.
TL;DR: stick to the fundamentals, not techniques, and maybe WBTB every day is not a good idea.

I agree. Though, it definitely seems to effect recall but I don't really see how that couldn't be worked around by experimentation and dedication. I've even had an LD induced from it which says a lot for me since I've only had a handful (I was high in the dream and I instantly questioned it and became lucid, the architecture of the scene was amazing and pristine but the dream didn't last very long unfortunately, but that's my fault).Quote:
