Question on WILD
Since I've started to attempt doing WILDs(At random times each day) I've noticed that when I do them at night I actually experience alot of the same sensations I do when I'd expect to enter directly into an REM cycle(Feeling of being in an empty void, Racing heart, Fuzzy/Cold Feeling all over, etc). Im guessing its stage one Im experience these things in but the question is this: Is it possible to go directly into a dream at night? I know this question has probably been answered before but ever since I read "A course on conciousness" and It said nothing about having to WILD directly into an REM period, I've been wondering if its possible.
Anyhu :) , thanks for reading the post.

I think it is possible to go directly into REM phase... You have even more chance if you take a nap during the afternoon...
I read somewhere that the sleep cycles continues to go on during the day...
I had a lot of Ld durings nap, when i was trying to WILD, also if you wanna have more chance you can try WBTB, it is very efficient too and it makes WILD a lot easier... ;)

I think that he wants to know if it's possible to do it right when you go to sleep at night for the first time. I think it's not because we go through the period of deep sleep where we don't dream and the starts the REM phase. Napping and WBTB are the best for moving from waking to lucid dreaming even had success myself. Maybe I'm wrong bzt this is my opinion.

considering it takes about 90 mins to enter REM, assuming youre a great sleeper, id think you would have to be extremely patient and disciplined...or just be one of those people that falls asleep fast (jelous)

What exactly is WBTB? I read the tutorials on Lucidity, but never saw that acroynm. Thanks!

WBTB is an acronym for "Wake-back-to-bed" and its a good method of having an LD. Here this should explain: http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6147
Yeah I was wondering if it was possible at night like kramari said. I've never actually achieved a WILD :) but from what I've experienced I get the same signs when I try at night. Though, it does only really happen when Im really tired and fall asleep fast.
Has anybody else read "A course on conciousness" here? I think its on the links section as far as I remember.

The very first time i tried to do a WILD i managed to come to the vibrations, in what seemed like 30 minutes. This was at night, before the sleep cycles. Ive never come that far since though.

Thank you so much for your help AllInYourHead. I really appreciate it and that method does look like a wonderful method.
And thank you for your experience Jammy. I am personally not sure of how its supposed to go, but I am learning a lot from you guys :D
So you can do WILD even before doing sleep cycles? And how many Lucid dreams did you have Jammy if you don't mind me asking :)

Ive lost count of how many LD ive had for a long time ago  WILDs ive only made 1 time. If you think about the time i came to the vibrations at the starting of the night, i stopped before entering the dream because at that time i didnt know what the vibrations was and they hit so strong that i thought i was going to die. I think this has ruined some progress for me at that time because every time i thought i was getting close to the vibrations i stopped because of the fear. And i regret this to this day. Now ive learnt differnt and is ready to encoutner and have encountered the vibrations several times. But if i had gone trought the vibrations i think i would have managed to go right into a dream from a conscious state at the beginning of the night.

im pretty sure it is deffinetly possible to have a wild at first sleep. i mean just last week i put my head on the pillow and said to myself "i shall remember my dreams" over and over and literally not 30 seconds later started to wild. so yea u can do it, i just wish i could do it that fast more often.
when it did happen i kinda got too excited and stopped (because i was just trying to go to bed, wasnt even trying to wild or see anything). but i saw and heard stuff and felt vibrations in no time at all....

I wonder if it is different for different types of people. I see images--those colors, but really in a short time period. Noises are far and few. Vibrations are quick. It is for me more or less a burning, numbing, sinking, weird sensations. Weird!!
Thanks guys for your experiences. :)

Heh no problem :) and thanks for the help jay dawg.
I know what you mean though, dew - I rarely ever hear any sounds but sometimes I can taste things(which doesnt help me concentrate when I'm peckish :D ) its weird :? . But yeah... everyone experiences different things really.

yea, i got a quick question on WILDing to.i keep getting really close. like the vibrations and the bright light. but then it dies away and i never make it. is there any way to help WILDing? as a side note i havn't had the chance to sleep and then wake and then sleep again (would this help get through that last phase?) also, am i supposed to concentrate on the counting (the 1 am i dreaming, 2 i am dreaming thing), am i supposed to stop, am i supposed to concentrate on the lights or wanting to WILD or am i just suppose to not concentrate? lol. thanks for any help :microwave:
