not sure if i just know what to look for or not but just running the water in the sink or taking a shower or hearing the dryer running, i can freakin hear the waves. has this happened to anyone else yet who has used BWgenerators?
i know it is a fact that running certain things can interfere with the brains natural patterns such as a dryer or microwave.
Jay, after last night, at night, umm. After trying that thing I STILL could hear the waves. I made sure I had the headphones off and I wasn't dreaming or anything. The stereo was totally off, but I still could hear them. Now I don't hear them. Weird

check this. i had a fan running at the same time, and i guess the mp3 ended but i thought it was still on and it was actually helping me start REM still. i put my head up to the speaker real close and it was OFF! turns out i was hearing the waves in my mind or something too.
Fans are known to run at the alpha rate *8hz to 14hz, relaxed, but alert" which is what makes it so easy to go to sleep to a fan running. Good thing to remember if you are ever away from home without your mp3 player or brainwave generator and having a hard time getting to sleep. Matter of fact, listening to a fan running might just put a person in the perfect state needed to become lucid in their dream. I may experiment with this a bit. :DQuote:

im going to try and put a brainwave file (to wave) on a timer to go off once im dreaming. is there a setting i can use to just make my conscious wake up a little bit so i can get lucid while stayin in the dream? its basically the opposite of using an LD induction mp3. instead of making mymind slow down i want to speed it up. sounds like it would work pretty good. what do you think
That's an excellent idea. In fact many of the commercial lucid dreaming cd's already use that method. That is what all of that rumbling sound you hear is in some of them, as they are raising the beats to try to raise your state of awareness. The tricky part is raising your consciousness enough to make you aware in your dream without waking you up, as I always wake up.
I'm now using the Brainwave Generator to put me to sleep, and then turning it off after an hour and having my mp3 player come on with affirmations every 5 minutes telling me that I am dreaming, etc, saying my name in each sentence, over and over again to see if this can get the idea of becoming lucid through my thick skull.
Here's a link I found that has some Brainwave presets that were created by the author of a book called Mastering Astral Projection, which include 4 on lucid dreaming. Maybe these will be helpful, because at least they were created by someone that seems to know what he is doing.

BTW do those other settings like "learning aid for studying" really work? i guess i could just use a setting for alertness while dreaming to get lucid no? whats a good beat to use to get lucid
I've just downloaded this. After I made a few nodes, I tested it out. BAM. I felt kind of relaxed and weak at the same time. I had to turn it off to prevent me from falling asleep.

Depending upon whether you are using the Brainwave Generator to help fall asleep or to become aware during your dreams, the below is some information I copied from the Brainwave Generator site that shows the rate that you would want to set the binaural beats at. There are also other ways other than just setting the binaural beats that can move a person toward their desired state, such as the pitch of the sound selected, in addition to other sounds that can be created.
Using one of the built in presents that simulates a helicopter sound I experimented and found out how to make the sounds slower to put me to sleep and then speed them up to wake me up, and although this had nothing to do with binaural beats it was very effective in waking me up. In fact I may start using that again.

Delta 0.5Hz - 4Hz Deep sleep
Theta 4Hz - 8Hz Drowsiness (also first stage of sleep)
Alpha 8Hz - 14Hz Relaxed but alert
Beta 14Hz - 30Hz Highly alert and focused
Entraining the brain to a desired state
If external stimulus is applied to the brain, it becomes possible to entrain the brain frequency from one stage to another. For example, if a person is in beta stage (highly alert) and a stimulus of 10Hz is applied to his/her brain for some time, the brain frequency is likely to change towards the applied stimulus. The effect will be relaxing to the person. This phenomenon is also called frequency following response
hmmmm that could be my problem lastnight. i made a 2 hour wave file that started out at 3 hertz and in 15 minutes went to 10 hertz and then slowly over like a half our went to 14 hertz then back down to 10 then 3 again over 2 hours.
i dont remember getting lucid at all or even remembering any dreams during that period before i woke up. it woke me up and thats all i remember. although when i went back to sleep each period i had more dreams. 1 of which s in my DJ
what settings should i use man? should i make sure to only use it after i wake up once so im sure to recall my dream as its happening? this is just not working
Although Brainwave generator can be useful in helping to get to sleep by using a low binaural beat, and can be useful in helping to wake up by raising that beat, the amount that the beat needs to be raised in order to wake up not only depends on the person, but probably also depends on how deep that person is sleeping any particular night.
To help remember dreams using the Brainwave Generator it would need to be programmed to wake you up at key points during the night when you would normally be dreaming, like at 90 minutes for most people, or in my case 60 minutes.
In itself I'm usure if the Brainwave Generator will help a person remember their dreams, as remembering dreams probably depends more on factors such as the person remaining perfectly still when they awaken until the dream images appear, and the person giving themselves suggestions that they will remember their dreams while they are going to sleep.
As far as becoming lucid goes, that is even trickier, as the person would need to be able to raise their awareness to the point of being aware in their dream without waking up, which can not only vary from person to person, but can also vary greatly within each person, as one night a person may sleep so sound that almost nothing would wake them, and then the next night they might be sleeping very light. Therefore, there is probably no preset that can be considered a holy grail to help a person to become lucid, as sleep states not only vary from person to person, but also vary greatly within each person. But if there is a preset that will help with becoming lucid, I intend to find it.
Why are you guys asking for good lucid dreaming presets? i gave u the instructions at the start of this post!!! If you find that your not having more dreams or quote "As far as becoming lucid goes, that is even trickier, as the person would need to be able to raise their awareness to the point of being aware in their dream without waking up, which can not only vary from person to person'' try rasing the nodes to a higher frequency. Even if you are in a light sleep as apposed to a deep sleep and the increase in frequency wakes you up, your still likley remember the dream and give you a chance to become lucid, even if only for a few seconds to a few minutes (depending on how much it wakes you up). Even then you could just have a slower increase in frequency.
