I have an idea
I read somewhere that a person had a lucid because a friends child in the dream asked what a RC was, and she proceeded to show the child only to discover she was dreaming.
So, I began to think. What if.. (bear in mind I'm still rather new to all of this and have only had a few minute LDs) What if you had someone that you live with ask you that question, and you demonstrated. So in theory the brain takes in that information only to hopefully process it in REM sleep, and while you demonstrate to someone what a RC is, you're thinking heavily about it. Or perhaps, using a reminder/alarm on your cell phone device, to go off ever few hours or so, popping up with the question "What is a RC? What is it's purpose?"
Feedback for this idea would be appreciated! :D

I would hope that the friend or family member that is asked to ask you 'what's a reality check?' has had a lucid dream before or they might think you are nuts! However, I like your idea. Our big human brain processes the previous day's memories during sleep and dreaming; filing away what is important and discarding what it deems is insignificant, so in theory it could work! Anyhoo, let me know how it works out for you. BTW, the iPhone idea has been around a long time.

It's the same as a simple RC, only that you would need the help of another person too. It would work the same way otherwise... it won't give it a bigger chance for success just because you do it along with someone else.
You don't always RC in dreams, even if you do RCs in real life a lot each day... it would work the same way and if that person is not really interested in lucid dreams, then you would also annoy them :)
