Hey Sully |

Hey, I had a lucid the other night and tried dream spinning and it made me have a false awakening, which is all good because the dream kept going. but Tonight when i did it, i just woke up completely. I think most times when i dream spin i wake up for real, does that happen to anyone else? should i keep 'practicing' it and wasting potential lucids or should I stick to hand rubbing methods and stuff. |

Yeah I've either woken up completely or had a false awakening every time I dream spin. Think its because I get too excited once I become lucid and run around like a headless chicken. Then when the dream starts fading I start spinning. I'm sure if I took it calmly I wouldnt wake up though. |

Hehe yeah, too much excitement will definitely lower your chances. You can also try other things, like looking down on the ground you're standing on, shaking your head, etc. Just focus on the vividness and realism of ALL your senses. Spinning is nice, cause you can feel the wind on your arms and all that stuff. |

lol that would be great. i could just see someones mom walking in on them lol |

and when he gets to heaven, to saint peter he will tell. "one more soldier reporting sir. i've served my time in hell"
Hi Sully, |

haha thanks for the input, yeah ill try some of those ideas. I usually have a lot of sucess with the rub hands and shout verbal commands, but sometimes it takes FOREVER to get the vision clear, and it feels like i sense things around me, not so much seeing them (kinda like daredevil in the movies, i cant explain it, must be a dream sense or someting, its kinda cool in a way). Ill try the spinning a few more times, and if i still have no sucess with it ill let it go. |

Really running in circles? Usually When I dream spin its like just spinning around 360 kinda like you do in real life when you're trying to make yourself dizzy. |

When I tried dream spinning my first time, I woke up. |

I have used dream spinning when I feel myself becoming consious from too much interaction in a lucid dream. I can feel my dream world disolving around me and I stop what I am doing in the lucid state and start spinning and I can feel my consiousness efforts drift away. Very similar to fainting and I Can return to the spot in the dream where I left off. It is a very powerful process to conquer and one must have a powerful bridge between consious and subconcious mind in order to have this ability. IMO, it is one of the most useful tools of lucid dreaming. All too often lucid dreams end when too much activity is exerted in the dream to remain in control. |
