Opinions and advice from experienced lucid dreamers

Hi I am new to this forum I joined so I can become more knowledgeable to lucid dreaming and looking for opinions, so here's my story. I'm 15 and I remeber when I was younger there are a few vivid dreams I remeber and even 2 lucid ones and one obe. My first lucid dream was I ended up underwater at a swimming pool for a race but realized something wasn't right I was under water and felt relaxed and could breathe then I woke up, my other one is kind of embarrassing but I rember f***** a manakin realized I was dreaming and woke up... And I also remeber being in a room seeing two fairies making out then woke up and realized it was a dream and I also rember an obe that gave me such a weird feeling I was lying down and I somehow was floating in a dimension of just grey and that I was loosing I touch with reality anyways that was probably at least 5 years ago I never knew about lucid dreaming back then. I first heard about it a few years ago tried ... No luck and quit. Two days ago I decided to try to lucid dream I ended up dreaming that the Feds were trying to give me weed and then bam out of no where Bruce Willis appeared sitting down in the shadows then I saw a blue light and woke up only lasted a few seconds ( dream time) I've been smoking weed heavily for 3 months and since I'm trying to ld I latterly lost all my cravings because I'm staying active apand everything so I can sleep better (slight case of insomnia) anyways to get back on topic all I've been doing the past 3 days is researching about lucid dreaming and it's all I think about I constantly do reality check ask my self of I'm dreaming and am gonna start meditating I know patience is the key to success but I would really like experience a lucid dream all I want to at least be able to do is just walk around and actually experience it anyways I try not to smoke weed before bed but if I'm really having trouble sleeping I use it to calm my nerves but I try not to because i heard its bad for dreams b I was wondering if I get stoned and pass out and set my alarm clock and do the wbtb method 4 and a half hours after passing out from weed will I still be able to become lucid and also what can I do to experience a ld I have a dream journal have only the Bruce Willis one written down however I did dream last night only remeber a few seconds of it but forget to right it down it was just a sexy women standing in gym clothes and then I just woke up anyways sorry for the long read and I appreciate it

Tldr I have had a few semi lucid dreams years ago lately started trying to lucid dream all I've been thinking about kind of addicting. but Also am quitting weed since, I've started I really need help and motivation from the guys with the experience and knowledge of ld'ing also I tried the wild two days ago I. The after noon almost worked but I don't like sleep paryilis would rather do a deild wbtb or just realize I'm dreaming

I would suggest trying either the Dream Induction Tutorial or the Intro Class for beginners. Either might help you get into a stable method for your lucid dreaming goals.

Thanks I actually watched a video by a poster called possibly the key to lucid dreaming by silver bullet.it makes know when I go to bed I'm not going to try to lucid dream I don't think I will either I know I will hopefully this mentality works I will let u guys know I think it's just because sometimes I try to hard and to the first poster I was reading a thread before and saw ur answers for some reason ur avatar and info box really stood out and next thing I know u reply here lol sorry to Get off topic anyways thanks so much for the replys

The easiest way I know of to attain a lucid dream is the DEILD or WILD. Visualize the last dream you can recall ... while affirming that you will awaken in a dream. The big human brain visualizes and dreams in the same area... the secondary visual cortices (AKA Cortex)

I've smoked myself to sleep and had a spontaneous lucid dream in the middle of the night so i dont believe weed is all bad for lucid dreams. When i first started lucid dreaming i had success the first night using the WILD.

Thanks I'm kind of have a slight bit of insomnia so last night I took a few tokes relaxed and fell asleep I remeber waking up and remembering a dream ! Of course I wrote it down it was kind of a weird dream then I fell asleep had another one and woke up I didn't write it down unfortunately but its ok even tho I didn't lucid dream it's a start. One key aspect is working on your memory skills. Too keep track of lucid and non lucid dreams you're going to have to remember a lot of details. So work on that in waking life. Memorize scripts, numbers, street names, spelling words, and stuff. Sharpen your memory up so it carries over into your dream state. This will help with your dream recall. You want to recall as much in your dream as possible even down to colors, voices, names, etc. I’m one that believes we lucid a lot more than we know. We just forget a lot of the times at night. We might lucid a dream but fall into several unconscious dreams and when we wake up we forgot the original LD. So working on memory skills helps us retain the dreams. Write it down in your journal...even if you have to use short hand style writing when you first wake up than later on logging the whole dream into full detail on computer or notepad journal. Keep a journal. I don’t know if Junior High Schools still make students keep a journal in English class. When I was in 7th and 9th grade English Lit back in the 1990-92 era my teacher made us keep a diary. Every morning when that period started we had to take ten minutes and write into our notepad journal. I had to keep one in my typwrting class too (back than there was no internet and we were still in the general typwriter era before PCs took over like storms...back then it was still like $1,500.00 for one simple school computer). Whether it was something the teacher wanted us to write about (like a certain event happening in town) or freelancing writing on Fridays. It helps to keep journals and it’s a lot of fun. Helps with the memory, and logging information down. Recalling past LDs helps recall future ones. So memory is a key here.

- Start a dream journal and record EVERYTHING you can remember when you awaken
- Train yourself to remember to do reality checks in your waking hours (hopefully this carries into your dreams)
- Learn how to meditate as this will help focus your mind on the intention of lucid dreaming and relaxes you if you do it before bedtime.
- Pre-sleep visualization - Picture yourself falling asleep and entering a dream. Make the visualization as detailed as possible with vivid imagery. Look around and observe your dream surroundings. As you imagine yourself dreaming, visualize yourself performing a reality check and realizing you are within a dream. Picture yourself become consciously aware within your dream, imagine yourself remaining calm and lucid, and then picture yourself gaining control over your dream.

Aha oh shit dude that's crazy and what's even more ironic is that I just finished replying to a post about a guy who didn't reply to my post but right under me wrote that he experience a dream and it was exactly like mine and I just finished replying saying how it was a coincidence now I end up replying to this this is crazy the past 2 days there has been some weird shit going on I remeber reading through this forum a few days ago and the last post I read was by a member on this forum next thing I kno I sign up for this site first thread I started she replied before anyone else I think my subconscious is playing tricks on me
