How to Wake up in Your REM Period?

Hello :)
I am attempting the DEILD technique for the first time and i learned you must be awoken from the middle of a dream/REM period in order for it to work. My question is: How can i tell when i will be in REM sleep so i can set the timer on my phone to wake me up in the middle of it? I have a very repetitive sleep cycle of going to bed at 11:30 and waking up at 9:00, so is there a way to tell when i will be in REM sleep? Thanks!

P.S: I know that i must not move when i wake up so i will set my timer to only ring for 3 seconds :)

Normally it is best to wake around 6 hours of sleep, but it varies for everyone. Do you wake after any dreams at all?

I usually do around once or twice a night... But i thought that was because it was the end of my REM period

It can be, but how do you know for sure? try using auto suggestion or mantras to wake up after each dream, or find out your REM cycle timing (normally after around 6 hours of sleep) and set an alarm.

Usually when I wake up in the middle of REM I feel crappy afterward. I've read it even effects your sanity, if you interrupt your dream cycle.

wow that calculator is actually pretty helpful, im gonna use tonight when i go to sleep so i can wake up maybe 20-30 minutes before a REM cycle ends, so i can DEILD. to the OP, i suggest you use the calculator. i just did, and it helped me find out when to wake up.
