Can't seem to realise I'm dreaming

I rc plenty and bizar things happen in my dreams but lately I don't seem to realise. RC's don't seem to cross my mind when I'm dreaming but I do them plenty when I'm awake. I got lucid randomly about 3 weeks ago. My dream recall is great too. Starting to bug me. I'll continue trying to lucid but I work a lot and dont like setting a lot of dream alarms incase I can't get back to sleep and miss my alarm for work. Tonight is the best night for me to try, the best dreaming night I had where I got lucid I went to bed redicilously early so I will try that again I think. I'm yet to have a mega stable lucid too. I've tried deild a few times where I woke up without opening my eyes and moving but I payed there for maybe half an hour. Or it seemed like that..

Maybe you do your RCs in a wrong way during the day! You should do them in every unusual situation (e.g. when you lose your keys), any you should really try to convince yourself that, uhm, maybe that's a dream!

*I swear, half the people that think they are using DILD are actually just having vivid dreams, not lucid dreams. As a way of attaining lucidity, DILD is pretty dumb IMO.

This is seriously so misguided I don't know where to begin. Please don't hand out your considered advice to anyone else.

If waking up in the morning for work is an issue, start doing only weekends/days off for your WBTB, only set 1 alarm and set it for after you've had 5.5 hours of sleep as that is the beginning of your longest REM period and is the best time to try to induce lucidity.

As for RCing, (and you won't like this, but), you're not really doing anything wrong, you just need to stick with it, unfortunately nobody can make you lucid except for you. You have to believe that you're going to succeed and be committed and consistent.

What!!! I have had four spectacular DILD's in the last month. Not only that; from those four DILD's I created another fifteen DEILD's. So, nineteen lucid dreams in the last month due to DILD's.

Thanks for the responses. I reality check every time something strange happens in waking life and when I do rc I really take a minute to survey the surroundings and see that im not dreaming. There are a lot of dream signs that haven't happened for me lately. I often have dreams of ufo's/lights in the sky, tornados/natural disasters, waking up in my ex gf's house with her cuddling me and her family acting like we're still together. But I've had none of these lately. The nearest dream sign I had was a malfunctioning night light that had no batteries in that I couldn't turn off. But for some reason I didnt catch on. The problem is I generally only get 6/7 hrs sleep on a work night, just due to the hrs I work. So I find it hard. I won't stop trying, just needed the encouragement so thanks ppl.

Ps, I don't think wild will work for me. Dild is the only way I've got lucid before. And I've spent a long time trying to wild. I recall a lot of dreams and I know I dream every night, just gotta tap into that

If you don't see regular dream signs and raising your general awareness isn't working, try MILD. When you WBTB visualise yourself becoming lucid in your most recently recalled dream and affirm that you will become lucid next time you're dreaming.

Listen to what Ctharlhie says.

Try following KingYoshi's DILD guide. I found his guide yesterday and realized its something I had been doing, but he went into detail and I gained some tips on how to improve. I feel it will really help in becoming aware in a dream. Unfortunately I can't post links yet since I haven't been registered for seven days yet, but just search KingYoshi and his guide will be in his signature.

I love how supportive everyone here is. Gives me the va va voom to carry on

Treat the whole day as one big dream sign question everything and it will transfer into your dreams trust me went from a lucid dream a week to 3 a week in two months. Confidence as well be confident and don't stress about it will make it harder it will happen when it happens. Keep at it and look back at this thread and see how far you come.
