I have a few questions on the FILD(Finger Induced Lucid Dreaming) technique before i try it tonight.
1. How long should i move my fingers before doing a reality check?
2. When I wake up in the middle of REM sleep, would it still work if i moved at all?
3. Is there any Sleep Paralysis or Hypnogogic Imagery involved with this technique?
4. I heard the FILD technique is less effective during morning hours. Is this true?

I only know enough of FILD to say that it's basically a DEILD with a focus point (moving fingers).
1. 30 seconds-1 minute. But 30 seconds is enough. (If you dont move when you wake up you almost insantaneously enter SP and then into a Lucid dream)
2. Maybe, if so try to FILD for 1-2 minutes (I dont promise this will work). Your best bet is to say this mantra before bed "I stay still when I wake up".
3. In a DEILD, once I had a strong Sleep paralysis experience, but never had another experience like that. I would say that it can have a bit of those, not as much as a normal WILD I guess.
4. Maybe, because you can be less tired and as so you're less likely to fall asleep faster. But when it's morning your REM cycle is bigger and you can wake up on a cycle easily.

It will vary for everyone, but around 20 seconds. Don't count though!

No. If you move, you can WILD instead.

Possibly, although most don't. They just report RCing after a while, and being lucid.

It depends what hours you mean! It's more effective in the early morning hours (1am - 5am) but any later you may be too awake, and there may be too much light / sound etc
