Attempting the CAT
I have decided to try the Cycle Adjustment Technique in order to enhance my lucid dream capabilities. The CAT technique will basically require me to wake up 90 minutes earlier than I normally would (which is easy as I have a very fixed sleep schedule). Basically, I will be waking up 90 minutes earlier than usual for one week in order to train my mind to be more awake during the 90 minute period when I return to my current sleep schedule next week.
Other info:
-I am currently taking about 14mg of menthol candies before sleep.
-I am in the GMT+2 time zone (it is around 18:30 now)
Lastly, I would like to request motivation from the DV community even if I am the only one doing it (yeah corny I know) because I find that motivation truly helps me in my voyages. Hopefully the technique will be useful and hopefully I can persevere.
I start tomorrow (Tuesday the 24th and I will post daily logs here :))
My DJ is linked in my signature, so let the insanity begin :D

I think CAT has a great potential. Once I got a DILD (could be coincidental), when I used to get up for WBTB at night and one night I didn't get up. That night I got a DILD. The idea is, that if you sleep at the time you are usually awake, your mind is more aware, waiting for you to wake up, and it can give you a DILD.
Another great time is to wake up 90 min before your normal waking time, stay up for 90 min and then go to sleep again. I had great success with this method, although I did closer to 60 min.
So yeah, I really believe this will work for you. Good luck. :alien:

Thanks you very much :) I would try to sleep after the 90 minutes but I have to get up and going :P. Interesting to hear about your DILD, that will help with motivation and maybe even the placebo effect ;)

Hi Lucid Avenger.
Currently I'm mainly using the cough drops during WBTB where I've had fairly good results.
Also by going on DV before I go to bed and compiling my journal has helped with motivation.
So good luck with the CAT technique, etc.

Best of luck with the technique! :)
Be sure to let Alyzarin know how the menthol affects your dreams.

Thanks for the support guys :D
Day 1
Day 1 went as well as expected although it certainly seems to be the hardest day which I will experience. I could not fall asleep at my normal time so I am pretty tired now. After falling asleep at just after 9 I woke again at around 23:30. This was just some random awakening although I thought it was already 4:00 :P. I recalled no dreams as it was still relatively early in my REM cycle. Then the next time I woke was shortly after a dream at around 3:45. I wrote down the dream and went to sleep again. Then my alarm woke me up at 4:00 for the CAT...
It was relatively easy to wake up yet I cannot say the same about staying awake. I started off my checking out DV and IRC for a while until my Internet stuffed out :/ then I did a few sudoku puzzles to keep me and my brain awake. After that I was pretty bored with about another half an hour to go, so I played some mid stimulation games on y phone. Finally I completed the last few minutes playing some stupid mindless game :P
After continuing to start my day like normal, I felt strangely good and even prepared. On another note, I must mention that my recall was really bad (most likely due to the lack of sleep and such). I have also decided to stop the menthol candy intake as they are almost useless with my lack of sleep. I'm ready for day 2 as I am pretty tired from yesterday :P
