Hello and welcome to Dreamviews, I hope you enjoy your stay :) You say nothing seems to work, well how long are you trying said techniques for? Usually it takes around a month before a technique can be regarded as not working for you. When I first joined I did the same thing as you, tried alot of techniques in the first week and got disheartened when I couldn't do it.
So that's tip 1. Tip 2. May I recommend the DILD technique (Dream Induced Lucid Dream) it's certainly the easiest and most effective technique for beginners. Stick with it for 2 weeks at least, trying every night and see how it goes :)
The reason I've not told you so much of what I personally use is because everybody is different, so what may work for me may not work for you. For the record though I use a mix of DILD and MILD myself, hoping to move on to more advanced things soon.
Sorry for the the length of this post but I really want to help you; If you haven't already may I recommend the DVA (Dreamviews academy) The intro class would be perfect for you. They are there to help you become a lucid dreamer. I am the proof that their classes work ;) I joined them in late December I think and by January I'd gone from 0 LD's to 4 in two weeks. I'll put the link for the DVA Intro class under this.
I hope this helps :)
Intro Class (OpheliaBlue, Caenis, RareCola, realdealmagic)
iDreamm...can you tell us what you have tried and how long you tried each method?
I also took the Intro class not too long ago. I had plenty of lucid dreams in my past but I wanted to learn the basics and improve my efforts. The class really helped. I even have my WorkBook linked in my signature (below) and I'm trying to keep it active. Take a look and get an idea of what we're talking about and what worked.
After you let us know what you've tried I will respond with greater detail. :)
Welcome, iDreamm!
I agree with the previous replies. And well, they pretty much summed it up. Every technique is different for everyone. Also, keep in mind that the techniques/tutorials/guides are what they are --- guides. They are not set rules, which you have to follow precisely. They are merely there to help you find your own method which works well for you -- sort of like building blocks. If a certain part of a technique doesn't work well with you, change it up. Experiment. Sooner or later you'll find the perfect one! :)
Good luck and happy dreaming.
Thanks everyone for responding so quickly!
Well to start off, I was introduced to Lucid dreaming about 6 months ago after I had done some research on Binaural Beats. I tried and tried and tried for about 2 months with no luck so I gave up :( About three days ago I saw a youtube video about Lucid Dreaming and it re sparked my interest. That nigh in bed i simply said "I will remember my dreams." and the next morning I had VERY VIVID dream recall. I decided to start a dream journal since that supposedly helps. I was very excited because 1, when you remember your dreams it makes you much more well slept because the sleep feels much longer (personally) and 2 the dream was amazing... I could even remember the emotions in it such as love.
Last nigh I couldn't wait to go to sleep, not so much for Lucid Dreaming, but more for dream recall. I went to bed saying to myself "I will remember my dreams." and listening to a Lucid Dreaming binaural beat. Unfortunately, I woke up the next morning with nothing to put in my dream journal :(
Awww don't worry about it at all! Seeing as you've just come back to start lucid dreaming again, it's perfectly natural to have off days. The only important thing is that you don't lose motivation, because once that happens, everything can go downhill. Just remember to think positive and that you WILL make it.
Also, I see you've signed up for the Intro Class! Great job, the Intro Class is really a good place to start, whether you're really new, or getting back in the game. ;)
I'm looking forward to seeing you around :)
The Intro Class is a great place to start. Both paigeyemps and I took the class and we still keep up with our Workbooks. It really helps.
I can suggest reading over (it's not long, I promise) the Dream Induction Techniques list from our WIKI. It gives a brief summary of each method and links you to more in-depth tutorials which can give you a good start and allow you to find what works for your sleep schedule.
Attaining Lucidity, a section of the forum, is also good to look at. It details people's attempts to become lucid and what worked (or didn't) for them. It's also filled with technique info and a subsection called Induction Techniques has detailed tutorial info written by experienced forum members.
I hope to see you find more success! Pleasant dreams! :)
Hello :) welcome to the forum! To answer your question, personally my favorite techniques is a combonation of ADA(all day awareness) Reality checking, and deild. But thats me, not every technique works with everyone so try to find whats best for you. Are you good at visualization? Than try mild or vild. Are you not sure what your good at? Try DILD and mabey WILD after a few weeks. DEILD can also be a good place to start. Like the others said, read the tutorials provided on the website. Also try reading Exploring The World Of Lucid Dreaming by Steven Leberge when you have the chance. Good luck!
Sleep Paralysis always works f0r me at around 1-2 o'clock in the pm,The trick your body into falling asleep method,it's so easy to just wake up in a lucid dream after SP..and the awesome thing about it is you start the Lucid Dream from your house just like it's real life, and when you walk outside that's when the adventure starts
Is sleep paralysis the same as WILD?
Sleep Paralysis is a temporary condition experienced on the way into or out of sleep. Some people attempt to achieve awareness during this phase to enjoy the imagery and sensations and allow their awareness to carry them into a lucid dream (WILD).
You do not need to experience SP to use the WILD technique or experience results. Try WILD for yourself. We have a WILD Tutorial in the DreamViews WIKI.
You can experience sleep paralysis in a variety of methods, not just the WILD method. In any method that brings you into a dream without a lapse of consciousness, you are likely to come across sleep paralysis. Some of these methods include WILD, DEILD, FILD, and VILD. So no, sleep paralysis is not the same as WILD. :)
So how do you personally get sleep paralysis
Personally i get sleep paralysis through DEILD, because the sleep paralysis only lasts for about 10 seconds than I'm in a lucid dream.:)
When you are asleep, your body shuts down so you don't act out your dreams (which would get messy if that happened). That is called REM Atonia. Sleep paralysis is when you are awake to notice it. Give this link a read-over, I'm sure it can help clear up some stuff for you, like it did for me.
Have fun! http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/compre...5/#post1807704
