Something I'm Trying to Increase My Visualization Skills
I'm not sure if this is a popular technique or not. It is simple enough that I would not be surprised if a lot of you do this already. But I had never heard of it until I accidentally came up with it near the end of my meditation.
At the end of my meditation, my eyes were closed, but I was imagining an image of my room. I began to wonder what small things I could change about the image in my head. So I changed the walls from white to red. I changed the carpet to concrete. Then I completely removed my bed, desk, drums, and dresser. I even changed my closet, door, and window into solid walls. Even with no sources of light in the entire room I was still able to see. All that was left in my new red room was me sitting in my chair. The room was completely different by the time I finished, and I could see it as vividly as I would see my normal room.
So the technique is basic and I'm going to continue practicing it.
1. Imagine the most familiar room you can in detail.
2. Change small details about the room.
3. Continue changing the room until it no longer resembles a place where you have ever been.
Let me know if this is already a common technique and if so, what is the name of it.
Thanks Everyone!
