Some kind of DEILD experience?

Well, today morning I had like an insane amount of lucid dreams, at least for me! I had four! And the weird thing was that I woke up and thought about getting up, but decided to stay in bed. Then I fell asleep and all of a sudden I was in the dream and just KNEW I was dreaming. I just KNEW it...very strange, as it would have been sooo obvious. Well, after that lucid dream I woke up again. Then I fell asleep again, and again I just KNEW at the very beginning of the dream, when it just started, that I was dreaming. So this kind of lucid dream-chain continued for four dreams! And it was SO incredibly damn REAL, it was even REALER than the real world...so awesome :D Well, in one LD I was on a street and I looked around, and it just was soooo real, everything was so clear and full of colour, I could look at all the stuff without it changing substance...probably because it was in the morning. But it was REALLY vivid. Another thing I noticed that I have always read about, is that if I don`t concentrate on the content of the dream, kind of don`t participate in the dream, everything would turn black...and I would wake up. Pretty weird, I probably should have stabilized the dream waaaay more times than I did, but it was so awesome, I didn`t care :cheeky: This is the second time this has happened to me. The only thing that I am wondering about is that it was so CLEAR and OBVIOUS that I was dreaming. Like there wasn`t any doubt about that fact. But I think that is good I guess :banana: So what would you guys call this experience? Maybe a DEILD-chain? I don`t know, but I would like to get to know more about it, because I would like to hone this skill to JUST be able to know that I am dreaming :)

^^ Congratulations Dicci0308! Sounds like you had a very exciting experience.

From the way you described them, I would say that they were DILD's, and not DEILD's. When they talk about "chaining" DEILD's, they're not talking about simply being lucid over and over, but consciously returning, repeatedly, to the same dream from which you just woke. From what you wrote, I'm not sure you did that.

But does that matter? I don't think so... DEILD, DILD, WILD, MILD, [place letters here]ILD, whatever, are all just tools for reaching the goal of LD'ing. What matters is that you got there, four times in a row. It really doesn't matter how.

That "advice" you read about concentrating on content is just silly. Be careful of what you read here, and elsewhere, both because much of it is decidedly wrong, and also because if you believe a thing you read is true, you will take that truth with you into your dreams. In other words, if you are lucid and remember that someone told you that you must concentrate or the dream will fade to black, that dream will fade to black. It won't do so because of what someone wrote, but because you've created an expectation of fading.

People have been "going with the flow" of LD's for, well, ever, and have been able to maintain self-awareness just fine without giving one wit of concentration to content. I suggest you do your own exploring once lucid -- don't judge your progress, or base your behavior, on what other people say.

Yeah, probably a DILD-chain or something, but it really doesn`t matter like you said, the experience was still awesome :P That with the turning black thing, I didn`t think about that while in the dream, so I didn`t have that expectation consciously BUT maybe I had that expectation subconsciously, my subconscious maybe screwed up for me. Anyways, I think this technique is kind of like the WBTB except for the fact that I didn`t follow the guidelines for them :) God, I want to know when I woke up...I could like repeat this thing just by knowing it :D Well, I am at least happy I had this experience!
