hello, i have been wanting to have a lucid dream for about a week now, and i think i about to end the dryspell soon because my dreams are becoming long and vivid. Anyway,t onight i will do my best to have a lucid dream and i just wanted to know if you guys had any success with something like this. I am not new to LDing, i have had about 8(i have had more but these are the ones i really remeber) since i joined two months ago.So any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance!:)
Excitement and Intent are huge help in becoming lucid.
I'm not sure what induction technique do you use, but I would recommend at least using some mantras (affirmations) for a MILD. If you throw in reality checks, your chances of becoming lucid will be higher. Good luck tonight and Happy dreams:alien:
Don't get stuck up on the thought of "Tonight I am going to have a lucid dream". I mean what happens after you have reasoned like this for a week?
You will think "Now I have tried doing this for 7 nights straight, oh no my dryspell is getting longer" I am not saying that you think in these ways now, but if keep track on how long you haven't had a lucid dream it is easy to get into this mindset.
Instead of having the perspective of if I do everything right now I will have a lucid dream, try to see it as a process and think what went well tonight?
Focus on the positve things instead of the negative, instead of thinking "I didn't had a lucid dream tonight and I don't know why..." focus on the what went well like "Tonight I was a little more aware than usual and it was because of the fact .... or Tonight I remembered more dreams and that was because....".
The definition of madness is doing the same thing and expecting a different result.
However you don't always do the same thing, but in the perspective on negatives it is easy to believe that you do and this will make you mad.
I hope that puts the mindset in perspective ;)
The way I see it, this perspective isn't only the ideal view of lucid dreaming to attain "happiness" but also the ideal perspective of life.

Try this, it is simple and effective. As you are drifting of to sleep, repeat in your head, over and over "I am Dreaming."
Ironically, all three above were Dream Guides. xD

Don't chase after individual successes. Every time you wake up feeling like you were close to lucidity consider it an overall improvement. If you experience hypnagogic imagery, false awakenings, or even just a night of strong recall consider it an improvement. Be patient and build up confidence that you're moving in the right direction.
