Question
So in the morning I think I had my first lucid dream! I was awoken by my mum screaming at me but I fell back asleep and woke up in my room, but I knew it was a dream. I could breathe through my pinched nose, I had six fat fingers and I could push my finger through my palm. I knew I was lucid but the thing was that the whole dream was very hard to see, it was like looking through half-lidded or squinted eyes? Does anybody have an idea as to why this was so.

Indeed, it was a lucid. Congrats!
It can happen, that all you see is darkness or one eye closed, one opened, or as you say, squinting eyes.
You can use your dream hands and pry your eyes open. Or take your sunglasses off, or the hood off your eyes. These are all just tricks to trick your mind, since in a dream, you don't have eyes and what you see is not through your eyes. But it helps to pry them open, or uncover. Just think to yourself "I'll take my sunglasses off so I see better" and do it.
Or try yelling "increase lucidity now", "increase details now", or whichever word represents clear vision to you. Check out Dream control forum for more ideas. Happy dreams:alien:
