Possibly Better
I have been thinking about trying something new that is MILD/reality checking. Of course, i have only had 2 lucid dreams and both from MILD so i dont have much experience in lucid dreaming but i still like my idea(even if it isn't original) . My plan is to reality check every time i do something particular. I have heard RCing every time you walk through a door but for me personally, my intent is to RC anytime i hear something relating to guitar or hear music because these are common dreamsigns. Then, while doing MILD, i will change my mantra to something like "I will RC every time i think about guitars or hear music." Also, i am considering focusing on guitars and music during WBTB instead of reading about lucid dreaming. I will try this on top of my regular dream journaling with hopes of working. Any input or experience about something like this will be appreciated. And sorry ahead of time if this is a technique. I have never heard of combining a mantra with specific dreamsigns.

Doing good! The MILD technique is really good for beginners. I believe your mantra is a bit too long. Something like "Music will make me question reality" is shorter and gets your point across. I've never heard of anything like your technique because I'm not sure if focusing on something other than lucid dreaming while doing a WBTB works, but hey, everyone is different.

Yes, this sounds good! I have heard several people using a technique like yours with high success. It fact, it is recommend to make a reality check based on your dream sign(s). Anyway, just be confident and stick to it! It will work! Good luck! Hope this technique ends up working for you.

Thanks for the input and i like that mantra. Actually, on one of the nights i had a lucid dream, i had awoken from a semi-lucid and performed my own form of WBTB. I wasn't feeling too tired so i listened to music to relax me(somehow metal relaxes me) and i went to sleep after about 30 minutes. I had a lucid dream then that lasted a good 3 or 4 minutes. Also, i just remembered i meditated on that day so i meditated today and will if i get the chance from now on.
